This week, the City of Coppell hosted their annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic. The annual event recognizes the tremendous commitment made by volunteers through Coppell that make this the place you want to be. So we want to take this moment to acknowledge and showcase our amazing volunteers from our very own Citizen's Police Academy Coppell Alumni Association!

Our volunteers are not only an extension of the police department โ€“ they are part of our PD family. They love serving this community and doing what they can to keep it safe, and we so grateful for all of the hours and energy they give not only to this department, but to our Coppell community.

You are a true example of how . ๐Ÿ’™

Today, we attended the Police Memorial Service joined by our fellow consortium police agencies, Carrollton Texas Police Department, Addison Police Department, and Farmers Branch Police Departmen

This annual tradition echoes the true purpose of National Police Week. Honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

During the ceremony, each police chief read the names of the fallen officers from their agencies. The fallen Coppell officers that were honored were Officer Donald Swearingin (EOW 12/12/1972) and Officer Michael Johns (EOW 12/28/2001). We are humbled to share this moment with our partnering agencies so those who gave the ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Thank you to Farmer's Branch Police Department for hosting the beautiful ceremony.

This week our Citizen's Police Academy Coppell Alumni Association volunteers worked behind the scenes to provide a meal to every team member of the Coppell Police Department in honor of National Police Week, including all of our day shift, night shift, and the school resource officers who work on school campuses.

We are so thankful for what our volunteers do, and their generosity means the world to us. Whether they are giving their time or providing a meal, their unwavering support is what makes Coppell so special. Thank you!
