🚌 National School Bus Safety Week | October 19-23 🚌

As we recognize National School Bus Safety Week, the Coplay Police Department reminds motorists that keeping our children safe is a shared responsibility - and it starts with paying attention behind the wheel.

🚨 When you see a school bus stopped with its red lights flashing, STOP!

🛑 | Never pass a stopped school bus.
👀 | Slow down and stay alert in school zones and near bus stops.
❤ | Give children the time and space they need to get on and off the bus safely.

Throughout the first month of the school year, Chief Emerich, Officer Miskanic and Coordinator Yudt, were out visiting several bus stops throughout the Borough... meeting the students and parents, sharing important safety reminders, and handing out safety coloring books, stickers and other goodies along the way!

We will continue to check in at bus stops throughout the school year to stay connected with the students and help keep safety top of mind. Wishing all of our students a safe, happy and successful school year!💙 🚌

🎃 A Community Effort for Public Safety 🚔🚒

The Coplay Borough Halloween Parade brought our community together for an evening of festivities, and ensuring the safety of spectators and participants was a priority throughout the event.

The Coplay Police Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the following Fire Departments/Fire Police: Whitehall, Catasauqua, Han-Le-Co and Northampton for their assistance with road closures and traffic control. Their support played an important role in helping maintain a safe environment for everyone attending the parade.

We'd also like to thank Catty Corner Neighborhood Pub and Pie for partnering with us to treat our volunteers at the conclusion of the event.

Public Safety is a shared responsibility, and we are grateful for the cooperation, dedication and support of our fellow first responders!💙🚔🚒

CY-26C-01801

Coplay Police Department is seeking the assistance of the public for a case involving a pedestrian struck in the area of S. 2nd St. near Hokendauqua St. On September 10th, 2026 at about 7:35 pm, a female was assisting her son placing a bicycle into the trunk of her SUV when she was struck by a suspected silver or pewter colored Toyota Camry 2004-2010.

The driver, described as a white male in his 50's with white facial hair, stopped to check on the pedestrian. The pedestrian stated she was ok and parties did not exchange information. Later, the pedestrian went to the hospital and learned her injuries were much more severe than believed.

No charges at this time are being referred but officers are seeking the driver to come forward to exchange information given the severity of the incident. Any information please contact the Coplay Police Department.

We Remember. We Honor. We Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Today, the Coplay Police Department was honored to be represented at the 911 Remembrance Ceremony at Mission BBQ in Whitehall, joining fellow members of the first-responder community in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

25 years later, we continue to honor the courage and sacrifice of the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and civilians who answered the call that day.

May we always carry their memory forward.
