🌟 Celebrating the Heart of Coos Bay Public Schools 🌟
During Certified Appreciation Week, I want to invite our entire community to join me in recognizing the extraordinary licensed staff who serve our students every day.

Our educators and licensed professionals do so much more than teach—they inspire. Despite the challenges of evolving state support and the increasing expectations for student growth, this team continues to rise to the challenge. They embrace change with professionalism and remain steadfast in what matters most: maximizing outcomes for every child in Coos Bay.

Our community is truly fortunate to have such a talented, resilient, and student-centered group. Their impact extends far beyond the school walls; they are shaping the future of our students and, in turn, strengthening the very fabric of our community.

To our licensed staff: I hope you take time this week to reflect on the meaningful difference you make. You have earned our deepest respect and gratitude.

To our Coos Bay families: Please join us in thanking these dedicated professionals in the comments below! Let’s show them how much their hard work means to our town. ⚓️🍎

Coos Bay School District Celebrates Administrative Professionals Day!

A huge shout-out to the backbone of our district! Today, we honor the incredible administrative professionals who keep our schools and departments running seamlessly.

These are the friendly faces in our front offices, the masters of scheduling, the keepers of records, and the creative problem-solvers who support our students, families, and staff every single day. Their dedication and hard work often happen behind the scenes, but their impact is felt throughout the Coos Bay community.

Please join us in saying a big thank you to our secretaries, registrars, receptionists, office managers, and administrative assistants. We couldn’t do this work without you!

Way to Go MHS Speech and Debate!

The Marshfield High School Speech and Debate Team traveled to the Rogue Valley last weekend
to compete for a chance to attend the National Speech and Debate Association’s National Tournament to be held in Virginia in June. Tide Belzer and Zel Quant won first place in dual acting, and Tide also took second place in dramatic acting. This will be Tide and Zel’s third consecutive year at the national tournament, which is a rare feat. Aya Koffi-Plebou took first place in persuasive speaking, and this is Aya’s second year attending the big tournament. Congratulations to these three outstanding Pirates.

CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSET FOR A CAUSE!
Got old sneakers taking up space? Whether they’re brand new or "well-loved," they can make a massive difference! On February 1st, Marshfield High School kicked off their Sneaker Recycling Drive!

Choose your impact:
📍 LOCAL: Top-tier pairs go to the ARK Project to support Coos County youth.

🌍 GLOBAL: Good condition pairs help families in developing countries start small businesses via Sneakers4Good.

♻️ SUSTAINABLE: Everything else gets recycled by NIKE Grind into new turf and tracks!

THE DETAILS:
👟 WHAT: Any athletic shoes (No spikes!)
📅 WHEN: Now through March 13th
📍 WHERE: Drop them in the bins at the MHS Gym or the Main Office. (If you have a large quantity to donate they can be taken to the principal's offices at MHS.)
🏃‍♂️ BONUS: All funds raised go directly to support the MHS Track Team!
Let’s beat last year’s record of 40 pairs donated to ARK!
