Measles spreads easily, but it is preventable.

Measles is a highly contagious respiratory illness that can spread quickly, especially among people who are not vaccinated.

Symptoms often begin with fever, cough, runny nose, and red or watery eyes, followed by a rash.

Vaccination is the best protection against measles. Make sure you and your family are up to date on the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine.

Are you ready if an emergency happens?

September is National Preparedness Month, and a little preparation now can really make a big difference when an emergency happens!

We put together this Emergency Kit Checklist to help you get started! It includes the basics for building a 3-day emergency supply kit, a smaller Go Bag you can grab if you need to leave home quickly, and reminders to customize your supplies for the specific needs of your household.

- Save this checklist to your phone
- Print a copy and check off items as you build your kit
- Pack a Go Bag and keep it somewhere easy to grab

Remember to check your supplies every 6 months and replace expired items

You don't have to build your entire emergency kit in one day. Start with what you already have at home and add a few items at a time.

Build it before you need it. Be prepared, not scared.

FREE - rabies vaccination clinic

‼️ Pop-up free rabies clinic in Butternuts, NY! 📣

Next Wednesday (9/9) from 1-3pm, we are hosting a free rabies vaccination clinic at the Copes Corner Park under pavilion number 2.

You do not have to be a resident of Butternuts to have your pets vaccinated.
