Narrative: The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of the above-named Defendant following a joint investigation with the Otsego County Probation Office. The Defendant was found to be in possession of three fi****ms and a high-capacity magazine while on felony probation. The Defendant was processed and later remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility.

Charges:

S*x Offender Failure to Notify Change of Address
Falsifying Business Records in the first degree (Four Counts)
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree

Court information/incarceration: Town of Middlefield Court and Town of Otsego Court

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of the above mentioned defendant following an investigation in to a New York State S*x Offender failing to abide by provisions of the New York State S*x Offender Registry. Investigation revealed that the defendant submitted documentation to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office regarding his residency which contained false information. Due to the false information, the defendant was in violation of statutes of the S*x Offender Registry.

On the above date, the defendant was located by deputies in the Town of Otsego and taken in to custody without incident. After being taken in to custody, the defendant was found to be in possession of over twenty grams of methamphetamine.

The Otsego County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and recommended the above charges. The defendant was processed and arraigned in Centralized Arraignment where he was remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility to await further court proceedings.

Sheriff Devlin met with members of the Otsego County Fire Police Association this evening at the County EOC to discuss programs and resources that help keep our community safe.

The Sheriff highlighted several important initiatives, including the Yellow Dot Program, Blue Envelope Program, Project Lifesaver, and Operation Safe Child ID Program. A question-and-answer session followed, providing an opportunity for an open discussion about these programs and other public safety concerns.

Sheriff Devlin extends his sincere thanks to the members of the Otsego County Fire Police Association for their continued dedication, service, and commitment to the residents of Otsego County.

Together, we continue to make Otsego County a safer place to live, work, and raise a family.

The defendant was taken into custody on a arrest warrant issued though the Town of Edmeston Court. The original charge on the Warrant of Arrest was for Petit Larceny and Obstruction of Governmental Administration. The Defendant was arrested and issued a appearance ticket and is set to appear in Town of Edemston Court at a later date.

Sheriff's Message: School is back in session this week!

As students return to school this week, we remind everyone to slow down, stay alert, and drive with caution as we begin the new school year.

🚌 Know the school bus laws:
🟡 YELLOW LIGHTS FLASHING: The bus is preparing to stop. SLOW DOWN — DO NOT ACCELERATE TO GET PAST THE BUS.
🔴 RED LIGHTS FLASHING: Students are getting on or off the bus. YOU MUST STOP.
When a school bus is stopped with its red lights flashing, traffic approaching from either direction must stop before reaching the bus, including on:

Two-lane roads
Multi-lane highways
Divided highways, where required by law

⚠️ School Zone Speed Limits:School zone speed limits are in effect from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on school days, unless otherwise posted.

Please remember: A few extra seconds of caution could save a child’s life.
