Welcome!! If you own property in Bear Creek, Huckleberry Bay or Sandpiper Shores neighborhoods, you are a member of the North of the Narrows Fire District and receive fire protection services from NNFD. In addition to fire protection, your stay at the lake has been made safer by the development of an emergency landing zone just off East Shore Road that can accommodate medical evacuations by helicopter.
Some of your friends and families may be trained volunteers that provide the critically needed extra help during the summer. The NNFD provides training to volunteers year-round, including weekly training during July and August, and monthly training the rest of the year. The service of our dedicated staff and volunteers does not go unnoticed.
Your tax dollars fund the vital services provided by the NNFD. To support the efforts of the staff and volunteers, Friends of North of the Narrows Fire District (Friends of NNFD) was formed as a 501(c)3 charitable organization in 2006 to assist the department by providing other necessary equipment beyond those things that could be bought with tax money. Some of the things we take for granted with a 911 call in the city may not be readily available in the Fire District. Friends of NNFD purchased three defibrillators, including both adult and child sized paddles, an emergency generator for the fire house, hose washing equipment, and fire training manuals. Financial support has been provided for specialized training of our paid staff, including emergency extractions.
You can contribute in several ways to support the NNFD. Persons wanting to volunteer for fire training can contact our Fire Chief, Scott Robinson at (208) 443-2979.
However, if you donβt see yourself as a firefighter, please consider Friends of North of the Narrows Fire District when you plan your charitable giving. We are a 501(3)(c) organization and you may be able to deduct your gift. Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated. Currently we are hoping to be able to fund the purchase of cold-water rescue equipment. Successful rescues have to occur in seconds from a frozen lake. Your gift of $10.00 per household would mean $2250.00; a gift of $25.00 could equal $5625.00. That would cover the needs for the current year. Donations can be directed to Friends of the North of the Narrows Fire District, 14374 East Shore Road, Coolin, Idaho 83821.
