ATTENTION, DRIVERS: THOSE SMALL HUMANS ARE RETURNING!

Tomorrow is the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, which means school buses, crossing guards, backpacks, bicycles, and children who apparently believe the crosswalk is their personal runway will once again be everywhere.

So, drivers, let’s all try something crazy this year: PAY ATTENTION & SLOW DOWN!!!!

Watch for kids near schools, crosswalks, bus stops, and residential neighborhoods.
Slow down when approaching school buses and bus stops.
Put the phone down and keep your eyes on the road.

And remember…

Those fancy flashing RED lights on the school bus mean the same thing in every state:

🛑 STOP!!! 🛑

Not “squeeze around the bus.”
Not “I’m already late for work.”
Not “I think I can make it.”
And definitely not “challenge accepted.”

STOP. YOUR. VEHICLE. That 5 point mandatory court appearance ticket will hurt!!!

The kids may not know where they’re going, but you should know where your brakes are.

Have a safe school year, everyone!

This Monday, July 20th the street sweeper will be making its way around town. The Township is mandated to have this done as per the state. It also helps to keep our town clean and looking beautiful. Unless you want your road to look like the back alleys of Philly, please move your cars, trucks, boats, hot rods, campers, project cars, mopeds and whatever wheeled contraption you might have in the road.

We’d also like to remind everyone that the sweeper driver is a self-proclaimed amateur Nascar driver who firmly believes every curb is just part of the track. And if you catch him staring off into the sky he is just admiring the ducks flying by.

And while we won’t tow your car or write you a ticket, we may privately or publicly shame you.

Thank you for your cooperation… and remember, the street sweeper is much better at picking up dirt than it is at parallel parking.

Happy 250th Anniversary of American Independence!

On July 4, 1776, the Signing of the United States Declaration of Independence marked the birth of a nation founded on the ideals of life, liberty and the belief that all people are created equal. The brave people who signed the Declaration of Independence secured the freedoms that generations of Americans continue to enjoy today.

Remember though, America is far from perfect. But it remains a country where people have the freedom to pursue their dreams, speak their minds, worship as they choose, and work to make tomorrow better than today. These freedoms were earned through the blood, sweat and tears of many great men and women. And these freedoms are worth protecting!

As we celebrate 250 years as a nation, please remember these words:

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we lose our freedoms, it will be because we have destroyed ourselves from within.” Abraham Lincoln.

No matter our differences, our country is strongest when we stand together. Let’s remember what unites us, show one another respect, and continue building a future worthy of those who came before us. Our children and the many generations to come deserve this!

And finally… to our friends across the Atlantic Ocean. Thanks for participating in the original “FAFO” tournament. The final score after 250 years is still USA - 1, England - 0.

Happy Independence Day, America! Stay safe and celebrate responsibly!!!!

🇺🇸 Happy (Almost) 4th of July! 🇺🇸

It’s that magical time of year when the sky lights up and someone suddenly believes they’re a professional pyrotechnician.

A friendly reminder:
Fireworks are dangerous and are best left to the real professionals. We’d really like this not to be the last week you have all ten fingers.

When to call the police:
-Someone is intentionally putting people or property in danger.
-A fire starts.
-There’s reckless or criminal behavior that needs immediate attention.

When NOT to call the police:
❌ “My neighbor is setting off fireworks on the 4th of July.”
❌ “I heard a loud boom.”
❌ “It sounded like another loud boom.”

Yes…it’s loud.
Yes…your dog is judging everyone.
Yes…there will be more booms.

Celebrate responsibly, keep a safe distance from fireworks, watch a professional display if you can, and remember: the goal is to leave the holiday with all your eyebrows, all your fingers, and no unexpected trip to the emergency room.

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸🎇
