🔴HAPPY 102nd BIRTHDAY🔴
Help me wish WWII Veteran, Mr. Roy Shores a Happy "102" Birthday today!! Mr. Roy is our oldest living WWII Veteran. He served in the Navy from 1942 till 1946. Mr. Roy sure has been blessed and doesn't look or act like 102. Thank you for your service Mr. Shores and for being a part of our great community!!

Constitution Day Ceremony for America 250, Thursday September 17th at Noon, Putnam County Courthouse. CHS JROTC will present the colors and County Attorney Jeff Jones will deliver the keynote address. Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to participate by ringing the replica Liberty Bell at the courthouse. The event is open to the public.

Grand Opening of O'Charley's back in 1994. The Restaurant recently closed after over 30 years in business. O'Charley's and Applebee's were the first restaurants to open on Interstate Drive back in the middle 90's. (L-R) TTU President Angelo Volpe, Store Manager Tim Weaver, Mr Larimore TTU, unsure. Tim sure ran a great restaurant back then!

UC Regional Airplane Airshow, Car Show and 5K Run, Saturday, September 19th
- 5K on the Runway: Starts at 9:00 AM (Registration at 8:00 AM, though online registration is preferred).
- Car Show (Benefiting Special Olympics of TN): Registration at 9:00 AM, judging at 12:00 PM. Entry fee is $25 per car, with trophies and prizes for winners.
- RC Airplane Airshow: Featuring aerobatic and jet airplanes, with shows at 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM.
- Airplane Rides: Available from 11:00 AM–12:30 PM and 1:00 PM–3:00 PM for $30 per ride.
- Static Displays: Airplanes, helicopters, fire trucks, and police cars.
- Admission: Parking and entry are free.

Today on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we had a ceremony in remembrance of those thousands of lives lost. We also honored some of our first responders, including THP’s Adam Cothron, who continues to serve after a roadside shooting in 2024 left him paralyzed. Special thanks to all our First Responders who continue to put others before themselves.

Congratulations to Algood Diner on the launch of its new Food Trailer! The local diner has been serving the community since 1997, with a retro 1950s charm, comforting food, and genuine Southern hospitality.
