The Putnam County LEPC (Local Emergency Planning Committee) will be conducting a functional exercise with emergency response agencies Tuesday, September 15th in the area of Hope Church in Algood.

There will be a large presence of local law enforcement, Fire and EMS in area. Please do not be alarmed. This is only a training exercise to provide all of our responders to have the necessary skills to respond to and protect the citizens of Putnam County.

There is no danger to the public, this is only an exercise. All personnel should be out of the area around noon.

We are aware that some wireless carriers are having issues and call may not be going through. The 911 centers phone lines are up. If you are having trouble getting ahold of us, please try to text 911 for help.

Bear sightings have been common the last week or so, but this is normal activity according to the TWRA. If you see a bear, please do not approach or attempt to feed. Please do not call 911 to report bear sightings. Contact the TWRA office at 931-484-9571

Baxter Rd. between Ditty Rd. and Academy is closed due to an overturned semi truck. The closure is expected to last most of the day. Please use an alternate route.
