Upper Cumberland Child Advocacy Center A private non profit 501 c3, the CAC provides services to children who have been victims of abuse through education, prevention and intervention.

The Upper Cumberland Child Advocacy Center provides many different services for the child victims and their non-offending family members. Our advocates establish a relationship with families to provide support and walk them through the judicial process. We are hiring an additional Forensic Interviewer ! we are the child advocacy center for the 13th Judicial District of Tennessee. Our service area includes the following counties: White, Cumberland, Dekalb, Pickett, Clay, Overton, and Putnam. UCCAC serves children in these counties when s*xual or severe physical abuse allegations are reported, with the majority of referrals coming from the Tennessee Department of Children's Services (DCS) and our local law enforcement partners. UCCAC is a child-focused, trauma-informed therapeutic environment designed to serve child abuse victims and their non-offending family members. UCCAC services are provided at no cost to families. Since 2004, UCCAC has delivered and coordinated the services needed for children to feel safe and begin the healing process.

Summary: The Forensic Interviewer is charged with conducting child interviews with alleged victims of or child witnesses to s*xual abuse or severe physical abuse, using an approved Forensic Interview Protocol.

Requirements and Qualifications
1. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s in a field related to social science, education, criminal justice, childhood development, or psychology.
2. Experience equivalent to three years of full-time professional work in one or a combination of the following: Child protective services, criminal justice, clinical evaluation, forensic interviewing, or other comparable work with children.
3. No Criminal history as determined through criminal records background check.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, public administration, psychology, or related field.
• Experience in team leadership, team building, and team participation.
• Knowledge of child abuse investigations, prosecution processes, and trauma-informed care.
• Demonstrated ability to manage data systems.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

UCCAC offers excellent paid time off (vacation and sick leave) and recognizes all State of Tennessee Holidays throughout the year. UCCAC offers a Simple IRA option.
