Being a green burial ground within a protected nature preserve, there are restrictions on what can be planted. Pictured are two examples of what is acceptable and desirable: Orange Milkweed (and all milkweeds), a wonderful source of food for many essential pollinators, and Black Eyed Susans, are favored and also deer resistant (but not always!!) Both create a pop of color for added beauty and continue to be a sustainable food source for much in nature. Should you desire to plant at your loved one's site, please contact our office for a list of approved indigenous plants and the areas they are allowed to be planted in.

Indigo Bunting eggs at the base of a tree in Meadow View. Even the tiniest of creation can easily be missed. May we always be aware of the miracles happening all around us, even in our times of sorrow.

We want to make visitors aware of the addition of 3 stop signs added this past week. These are to ensure the continued safety of drivers, golf cart users and pedestrians while entering and exiting the burial preserve. The protection of our visitors, staff and wildlife is a top priority for HCW. A very special thank you to our property stewards Mike, Chris, Michael and Ron for taking care of the installation.
**A reminder that our office will be closed Monday May 25th in observance of Memorial Day but carts will be made available until 4:30. Gates open at 9AM and close at 5PM. **

From sketch to conception, our Chapel holds much significance for those who have attended a service or for those who hold prayer while visiting. Built in 2016, the Chapel has weathered her 10 years well. This next week, she will be going through a refurbish on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd. During this time, the Chapel will be closed to all visitation/services. We ask that no one walk into the Chapel, as the flooring will be part of the refurbish. We thank you for your consideration and understanding during this 48 hr. time frame.

Our steward Kye and a recent visitor found this woodlands resident with his head sticking out of a birdhouse. Stopping to open, they find a rather large Eastern Rat snake. As they traveled back through, he had made his way to the ground and needless to say, was not happy with their return!! We encounter wildlife daily and understand that we are existing in their world. Coexisting with Respect is always given.
