Today, Reserve Deputy Sam Civello located a Silver Alert missing person. Deputy Civello with assistance from Reserve Sgt. Cook, pilot of the FCSO Drone Unit, located the missing person along the railroad tracks south of Conway on Hwy 365. We are truly thankful to these deputies. This was the 4th missing person located this year with the assistance of the FCSORU Drone Team. Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the success of its newly established Drone Program, which has already made a significant impact on public safety and law enforcement efforts in its first five months of operation. After observing the technology successfully working for other agencies in several states, Faulkner County Sheriff's Office wanted to build a drone program to increase safety operations for the citizens of Faulkner County. Thanks to the contribution of Centennial Bank, we were able to develop this program, which has already proven to be a monumental success in its first several months of operation. In appreciation, Chief Deputy Chad Wooley, Reserve Commander Brian Tyner, and Deputies Joe Sexson and Randy Spradlin, pictured here, presented a trophy to Centennial Bank staff for their efforts.

Since its launch, the FCSO Drone Unit has flown 54 missions, providing vital support in a wide range of operations. Thus far, the program has been instrumental in locating and ensuring a safe recovery for an elderly patient, locating two missing and endangered juveniles, assisting in the apprehension of six suspects that were actively fleeing from law enforcement, and supporting numerous search warrant operations. In addition to these efforts with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office, the drone program has provided instrumental assistance to several partner agencies including Conway Police Department, Mayflower Police Department, Arkansas State Police, U.S. Marshals Service, 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force Narcotics Unit, and Conway County Sheriff's Office.

The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to using innovative technologies to enhance public safety and better serve the citizens of Faulkner County. We would like to express our appreciation to Centennial Bank, whose partnership has allowed us to launch this important safety initiative. It is our hope to be able to expand on the drone program operations within the next year.
