Faulkner County Emergency Squad

Faulkner County Emergency Squad Faulkner County Emergency Squad is a nonprofit organization of local volunteers who help Faulkner County residents during emergencies. We save lives.

INVEST IN YOUR COMMUNITY: Please pay the voluntary tax on your personal property taxes every October and support your Faulkner County Emergency Squad. The Faulkner County Emergency Squad is a nonprofit organization made of local volunteers who help Faulkner County residents during emergencies. We are rescue divers, swift water rescue experts, first responders, nurses, emergency medical technicians

and law enforcement officers. Many in our squad are local volunteer firefighters. The rescue squad has been called upon by local law enforcement for assistance during natural disasters including floods, tornadoes, recovery, and transport during icy conditions, as well as mutual aid for neighboring counties. We were founded in 1978 to assist with countywide emergency needs. We are the people who come to the rescue, but we need the community’s support. Your voluntary taxes and donations are what makes our squad possible. All money is used for purchasing, upgrading or maintaining equipment, and for training purposes. Needed equipment includes wetsuits for individual divers, automated external defibrillators for response vehicles, upgraded radios for better communication, and emergency-stocked backpacks for field recoveries. We make it our goal to participate in specialized training to help where and when we can. The Faulkner County Emergency Squad is a licensed Basic Ambulance Service through the state health department. We have three fully stocked ambulances in Conway, Greenbrier and Mount Vernon. The squad also provides standby at community and sporting events. Faulkner County Emergency Squad provides multiple services to the Faulkner County area:
• Standby support at athletic events, Toad Suck Daze, community events and other activities
• Swift Water Rescue
• Dive Rescue and Recovery
• Mutual aid to law enforcement and surrounding counties during extreme weather events, and other emergencies or disasters
• Free child identification cards at health or safety fairs or other community events
• Rescue Dog Teams
• Search and Rescue Teams

The Faulkner County Emergency Squad needs the financial support of the community to purchase and maintain equipment, and to train with that equipment so we are ready for the next emergency. Please pay the voluntary tax for the Faulkner County Emergency Squad when you pay your personal property taxes. Consider it an investment in your community. This weekend, members of the Faulkner County Emergency Squad Riverboat and Rescue 1 small boat crews participated in the 17th Annual Arkansas Fire Boat School. This specialized training brings together fire, rescue, and emergency response agencies from across the state to enhance their capabilities for water-based emergencies and large-scale incidents.

Training opportunities like this allow our personnel to sharpen critical skills including boat operations, water rescue techniques, search and recovery operations, emergency scene management, interagency communications, and coordinated responses involving multiple agencies. Just as important, these events help build relationships with fellow responders from across Arkansas—connections that become invaluable when agencies must work together during major incidents.

As a volunteer organization, we are committed to providing our members with high-quality training that prepares them to respond safely and effectively when our community needs us. The knowledge and experience gained at Arkansas Fire Boat School directly improves our ability to serve the citizens of Faulkner County and assist neighboring jurisdictions when called upon.

A big thank you to Arkansas Fire Boats, the instructors, organizers, and participating agencies for another outstanding training event. We appreciate the opportunity to learn from some of the best marine and rescue professionals in the region and look forward to putting these skills to work in service of our community.

Faulkner County Emergency Squad is excited to once again participate in the Conway Child Safety Fair on June 6th!

Stop by our booth to get a FREE Child ID card made for your child. These IDs can be a valuable resource for families and first responders in an emergency situation.

This year, we’ll also be joined by the American Scent Dog Association, the K9 search team we proudly work alongside. They’ll have several team members and search K9s at our booth for everyone to meet and learn about.

We can’t wait to see y’all there!

🚤 **Rescue Mission Update** 🚤

Tonight, our team responded to the Arkansas River at Palarm to assist a stranded boater. They were experiencing motor trouble and needed help getting back to shore.

We quickly proceeded upstream, located the stranded boaters, and safely towed their boat back to the ramp. Once there, we helped them load their vessel onto the trailer.

A huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers who stepped in to support this rescue effort, both on the water and on shore. Your commitment makes a difference! 🙌💙

Stay safe out there, everyone!

🌟 **Successful Rescue Alert!** 🌟

Yesterday evening, our dedicated rescue team responded to an emergency call about a cow that had become stuck in the mud along the Cadron Creek near the Arkansas River. With a combined effort from both land and water resources, including our Rescue1 boat and the Mudd-Ox, we sprang into action.

Upon arriving at the scene, our team utilized ropes, rigging, and a winch to carefully pull the cow out of the mud, along with the incredible teamwork of our responders. After some time and a lot of effort, the tired but relieved animal managed to stand up and was then guided safely back to the pasture to reunite with its herd.

A huge thank you to all our responders who acted swiftly to ensure the safety of this animal. Your hard work and dedication are truly appreciated! 💪🐄

Let’s keep showing our support for our rescue teams and the community we serve. Together, we can make a difference!

The Faulkner County Emergency Squad has been actively assisting the Faulkner County Road Department in response to the recent winter storm.

On Sunday, January 25, 2026, we partnered to assist in clearing roadways and spreading sodium chloride in areas that have historically been difficult to access with standardized equipment. With the assistance of five of our crew members, we were able to mount a spreader on the back of our Mudd-Ox Amphibious Vehicle, which allowed us to navigate the steep, icy roadways more effectively.

We were glad to put this incredibly valuable tool to work in an effort to help clear the roadways. Stay safe and warm, Faulkner County! We are honored to serve you!

This past weekend, several of our members took part in a Tracker Training course. We spent the day in the woods learning the fundamentals of locating signs and tracking a missing person. We learned how to sharpen our senses to notice the subtle signs left during a tracking effort, what evidence to look for in a track, and much more. It was rewarding to collaborate with others from our local fire departments and community members who are dedicated to enhancing our search and rescue capabilities here in Faulkner County.

During tonight's Fire Chiefs Association meeting, we were pleased to support the Twin Groves Volunteer Fire Department by donating a fire hose nozzle needed for their brush truck.

One of the primary goals of the Faulkner County Emergency Squad is to assist our county's volunteer fire departments. We respond alongside Twin Groves several times a year, particularly during our water rescue emergency calls along Cadron Creek, which flows through their district in northern Faulkner County. We look forward to training and collaborating with their members in the upcoming year!
