🚒🚨🚒🚨Well, well, well. Here we are again. Our members work hard day and night. To operate as professionals and provide excellent patient care at the level we do, it takes a strenuous training program. We are proud of one of our newest members to pass his credentialing with our FTO’s and our Medical Director. Paramedic Cartmill has been with the department for several months, but his years of experience in EMS show on each response. We want to congratulate him on this step at the Converse Fire Department and look forward to seeing him succeed with his fellow members and take care of all of you with the care you deserve! 🚨 BEHIND THE SIRENS | JULY 2026 🚨

July was another busy month for Converse Fire & EMS! Our crews responded to 387 calls for service, including 247 EMS calls and 140 fire/service calls.

From urgent medical calls and vehicle accidents to fires, rescues, alarms, and public assistance, our crews were there when our community needed them.

Thank you to our dedicated firefighters, paramedics, and support staff for continuing to serve the Converse community!

The road to becoming a credentialed paramedic is not an easy path. It requires a minimum of 480 hours of training, unwavering dedication, perseverance, and the ability to perform under pressure. Omari stayed the course, put in the work, and has earned the privilege of serving our community as a Converse Fire Department Paramedic.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE: EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT EXERCISE AT CITY HALL

City Hall will close at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, for a planned emergency management exercise.

City staff, along with the Converse Police and Fire Departments, will participate in the exercise to strengthen emergency preparedness and response capabilities. Residents may notice increased emergency vehicle activity and personnel at City Hall during this time.

This is ONLY a training exercise. There is NO threat to the public.

Big thanks to Converse residents, Mr. and Mrs. Olsen for their generous donation of this beautiful 2-person Sauna for our Firefighters! This important piece of equipment works by promoting heavy sweating to flush out absorbed smoke toxins, accelerating muscle recovery and reducing high stress levels.
