🚨 FUGITIVE ARRESTED FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION INTO FI****MS OFFENSE(S) 🚨

Converse Police Department and U.S. Marshals Task Force Arrest Federal Fugitive

CONVERSE, TEXAS — On Friday, August 28, 2026, members of the Converse Police Department Criminal Investigations Division (CID), working in coordination with the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, successfully apprehended a wanted fugitive in connection with an outstanding federal warrant.

The fugitive, identified as Lorimar Pagan-Nazario, 39, of Universal City, Texas, was wanted on a federal warrant alleging Conspiracy to Traffic Fi****ms - Straw Purchase(s).

Through coordinated investigative and fugitive apprehension efforts, law enforcement officers located and arrested Pagan-Nazario without incident. Following her arrest, she was transported to a detention facility in San Antonio to await further judicial proceedings related to the federal warrant.

The successful apprehension underscores the importance of continued cooperation between local and federal law enforcement agencies in identifying, locating, and apprehending individuals wanted for serious offenses.

The Converse Police Department remains committed to protecting our community and making the safety and security of our citizens a top priority. Our department will continue working aggressively with our law enforcement partners to locate wanted offenders and ensure they are brought before the appropriate court to answer for their alleged offenses.

The Converse Police Department extends its appreciation to the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force for their continued partnership and commitment to locating and apprehending wanted fugitives.

🐾 Honoring Those Who Gave Everything 🐾

Yesterday, on National Police K9 Day, members of the Converse Police Department participated in the 2026 Fallen K9 Memorial Run, honoring the brave K9s who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

We were proud to have retired K9 Loki, K9 Spyro, and K9 Fury alongside their fellow officers for this meaningful event. 🐕 👮

These extraordinary K9s embody courage, loyalty, and an unwavering commitment to serve. We remember those who gave their lives, honor the legacy they leave behind, and remain grateful for the K9s who continue to serve beside us.

🚨 FUGITIVE ARRESTED FOLLOWING MULTI-AGENCY TACTICAL OPERATION 🚨

On Thursday, August 20, 2026, Converse Police Officers responded to the area of FM 78 and Crestway Road regarding a report of a possible assault involving an elderly person.

During the investigation, officers located and lawfully detained a male subject matching the suspect’s description at a nearby business. Rather than cooperate with officers, the subject escaped custody and fled the area.

The investigation was immediately turned over to the Converse Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID). Through diligent investigative efforts, detectives determined the suspect had provided a false identity and impersonated another individual when he was detained.

CID detectives ultimately identified the suspect as Devontae Amillion Sweeney, 21 years of age, and discovered that he was already wanted on three active felony warrants. Detectives then obtained three additional warrants for Sweeney and continued working to locate him.

On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Converse Police, with assistance from the Alamo Area Metro SWAT Team, located Sweeney in the 6700 block of Haven Meadow.

After numerous attempts to gain Sweeney’s voluntary compliance failed, the tactical team entered the residence. Sweeney was located hiding inside the residence in an attempt to avoid arrest and was taken into custody without further incident.

Sweeney was booked into the Bexar County Central Magistrate’s Office on the following warrants :

· POSS CS PG 2 >= 4G < 400G
· UNL POSS FI***RM BY FELON
· MAN DEL CS PG 1-B >=4G=4G

🐾💙 National Police K9 Day 💙🐾

Today, we’re celebrating three very special members of the Converse Police Department family: K9 Fury, K9 Spyro, and K9 Yuma. 🐕

While they may have four legs and a wagging tail, these K9s are so much more than working dogs. They are trusted partners, loyal companions, and cherished members of our department family. They spend countless hours training alongside their handlers, answering calls, tracking suspects, locating evidence, and using their incredible noses to help take illegal drugs off our streets.

Their work isn’t always easy, and it isn’t always safe. Yet, every time they’re called upon, K9 Fury, K9 Spyro, and K9 Yuma are ready to serve. They put their trust in their handlers, and their handlers put their trust in them. That bond is something truly special.

Like any member of our family, they bring their own personalities, energy, and unconditional loyalty to the job. They celebrate the wins with us, share in the long days, and remind us that some of the strongest partnerships don’t always need words.

We are incredibly proud of K9 Fury, K9 Spyro, and K9 Yuma, and deeply grateful for everything they do for the Converse community. We’re also thankful for their dedicated handlers, whose commitment and care make these extraordinary partnerships possible.

🚨 Bad Decisions Have Consequences! 🚨

Last night, Converse Police officers responded to the 8600 block of FM 78 after a vehicle struck a bicyclist and fled the scene.

Thankfully, a nurse stopped to render first aid and stayed with the victim until Converse Fire & EMS arrived. We also want to recognize a witness who followed the suspect vehicle, photographed the license plate, and provided officers with its location and direction of travel. That information helped officers locate and stop the vehicle in the 9100 block of FM 78. 👏

Following the investigation, Jenifer Lynn was arrested and charged with Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle–Serious Bodily Injury, Collision Involving Injury, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

To the person who thought drinking and driving was a good idea: It wasn't. And fleeing the scene definitely didn't make it better. 🚔

To everyone else: If you've been drinking, don't drive. Call a friend, call a rideshare, call somebody. Just don't get behind the wheel. A ride home is cheaper than an ambulance, an arrest, or a life-changing crash. Please, don’t make us come find you. We have enough paperwork.

Seriously, drinking and driving can turn a bad decision into a tragedy in seconds. “I only had a few” is not a defense we recommend testing on FM 78, or any road.

Today, we’re celebrating K9 Fury, K9 Spyro, and K9 Yuma, the four-legged members of the Converse Police Department who prove that you can be adorable AND tough on crime! 💪

These hardworking K9s help our officers apprehend suspects, locate dangerous individuals, and sniff out large quantities of illegal drugs. 🐕🚔

They may love treats and belly rubs, but when it’s time to work, they’re all business! 🦴😎

🚨 TRAFFIC SAFETY ALERT FM 3502 & FM 78 🚨

Overnight, officers responded to a major single-vehicle rollover crash involving a vehicle fire at FM 3502/Kneupper Rd and FM 78. The driver was evaluated by EMS and later arrested for DWI.

The crash damaged traffic lights and roadway signage. The traffic signals will be flashing red until repairs are completed. Please treat the intersection as a four-way stop, come to a complete stop, and use extra caution.

Please drive safely and remember: don’t drink and drive.
