Take a second to read about the Girl of the Year in Lehigh Valley, Abby Walton. Abby is a 4 year old ALL cancer survivor and is currently in remission!
"800 days. Abby spent 800 days of the 1,555 days she’s been alive in treatment for ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). That comes out to 51% of her life, that’s over half! And she made it look like it was no big deal. There is a little new found freedom in not being tied down to a drug regiment any more. It’s a little scary to think she could get sick and not to run off to the oncologist for every little thing now. She can start to do some “normal” kid things that we were hesitant to let her do before for fear of catching something and winding up in the hospital. Life post chemo can be somewhat frightening and so exhilarating at the same time. I feel like Jasmine from Aladdin singing A Whole New World, because that’s exactly what it’s like." – Sherri (Abby’s mom)
