🚔FLOCK ALERT HELPS OFFICERS CATCH SUSPECT IN THE ACT
After six fuel thefts over several months from Rent-A-Center delivery trucks parked at 1116 W. Dallas Street, investigators identified a vehicle believed to be involved. They also discovered that the suspect’s 2008 maroon Ford F-150 was displaying a license plate assigned to a different vehicle, a Dodge pickup.

Investigators entered the plate information into the Flock Safety system. On September 3, officers received a Flock alert indicating the suspect vehicle was back in the Conroe area.

Officers searched nearby locations and found the Ford behind rental trucks at The Home Depot, 1341 W. Davis Street. The suspect, identified as Cory Ferguson, 36, was located actively siphoning fuel from one of the trucks. He was taken into custody without incident. Ferguson, who had two previous theft convictions, had this theft charge upgraded to a State Jail Felony. Investigators also linked Ferguson to multiple fuel thefts at Rent-A-Center.

This case demonstrates how Flock technology, investigative work, and a quick response from patrol officers can work together to help protect local businesses and our community.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen motorcycle following a Facebook Marketplace meetup at a local apartment complex on FM 1488.

The victim had listed the motorcycle for sale and agreed to allow a prospective buyer to take it for a test drive within the apartment complex. Instead, the suspect left the complex on the motorcycle and fled eastbound on FM 1488. The person who had arrived with the suspect also drove away, and the victim immediately called 911. Details provided on scene were limited, leaving officers with little to work with.

Using Flock cameras and other investigative tools, Officers located images of the stolen motorcycle and identified a Chevrolet Malibu connected to the theft. Several images showed the Malibu traveling closely behind the motorcycle.
Officers determined that the motorcycle was last seen in Flock images entering Lake Conroe Village. Officers later went to the area and began searching the neighborhood. During the search, a motorcycle covered by a tarp was in the front yard of a residence. After receiving the homeowner’s consent to remove the tarp, Officers confirmed it was the stolen motorcycle.

Thanks to outstanding investigative work and effective use of Flock and other investigative tools, the motorcycle was located, recovered, and returned to its rightful owner. Without these tools, combined with Officers' follow-up investigation, this case may have gone unsolved.

Just a reminder: When buying or selling items through Facebook Marketplace or other online platforms, consider meeting at a designated Safe Exchange Zone or police department whenever possible.

🚔 CRIME REDUCTION UNIT — AUGUST RESULTS 🚔
Our Crime Reduction Unit, made up of 4 officers, stayed busy throughout August, proactively working to locate wanted individuals and take offenders off the streets.
🔹 27 Trips to the Montgomery County Jail
🔹 28 Felony Warrants Cleared
🔹 11 Misdemeanor Warrants Cleared
🔹 6 Felony Instanter Cases
Flock was utilized in 12 arrests, helping the CRU quickly locate individuals wanted for criminal offenses.
These numbers represent more than statistics; they reflect the continued proactive work of our officers to identify offenders, clear outstanding warrants, and help keep Conroe safe.

Update from the US National Weather Service Houston-Galveston Texas.

Here is the latest from NHC. Edouard has made landfall and continues to weaken as it moves inland over eastern TX. Edouard is expected to weaken to a tropical depression tonight, then dissipate by Wednesday night. The primary threat remains heavy rainfall & flash flooding, especially overnight. The Flood Watch remains in effect thru Wednesday evening.

The Conroe Police Department and the City of Conroe are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Edouard and any potential impacts to our area.

We encourage everyone to stay weather-aware and monitor local news outlets and trusted official social media pages for the latest weather updates and information.

The low pressure system we have been monitoring for the past few days is now identified as potential tropical cyclone five. Should PTC5 strengthen it will become Tropical Storm Edouard.

At this time we are not expecting any significant impacts from this system.

However we will see our rain chances increase starting late tonight into Wednesday.

A flood watch has been issued for Montgomery County until September 2 at 7:00 A.M.

A few tips to keep in mind:

With limited rainfall these past few weeks the roads will be very slick initially when rainfall commences. Please allow extra spacing and slow down!

The ground is not primed for absorbing the initial rain as it is very hard and excessive rainfall could produce localized flash flooding. Turn around don't drown!

Keep an umbrella handy through Wednesday!

In the early morning hours of August 22nd, around 2:40 a.m., Conroe Police Department dispatch received a call from a concerned citizen regarding a friend who needed assistance. The only location information available was a Life360 location near Cowboy Kia.

A Drone as First Responder (DFR) drone was immediately deployed to check the area. The drone arrived before responding officers and began searching for the individual.

With no description of the person or vehicle available, the DFR pilot carefully searched the area for anything that appeared out of place. Along the shoulder of Interstate 45, the pilot located a passenger vehicle stopped with its hazard lights on. The drone also observed movement in the car.

The DFR pilot immediately relayed the vehicle's location and observations to responding officers. Officers arrived a short time later and made contact with the individual, who was confirmed to be the friend the caller was concerned about. Officers were able to check on his welfare, provide assistance, and determine that he was okay.

This is another great example of the benefits of our Drone as First Responder program. DFR provides officers with an additional set of eyes in the air, allowing us to quickly search large areas, locate people and vehicles, and provide responding officers with valuable real-time information before they arrive.
In situations where every minute can matter, DFR technology helps our officers respond faster, safer, and with better information.

🚨Olivia has been located and is safe and well.🚨

We are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 14-year-old Olivia “Reese” Arvidson-Tolar.

Olivia was last seen on Sunday, August 23, between approximately 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. at a residence in the April Sound area.

Anyone who has seen Olivia or may have information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the Conroe Police Department at 936-522-3200 or call 911.
