Yesterday, the Montgomery County Bail Bond Board voted to appoint County Treasurer Melanie Bush as its Presiding Officer. The Bail Bond Board is responsible for the licensing, regulation, and oversight of collateral requirements for bail bonding companies operating within Montgomery County.
After previously serving on both the Complaint Committee and the Audit Committee, Mrs. Bush will now preside over board meetings and help guide the board’s ongoing work.
“It is an honor to serve our community in this capacity alongside my fellow board members, including Judge Hutson, Judge Mack, District Clerk Melisa Miller, and the designees of other elected officials. I thank Alexis Van de Ven Seda, surety representative, for her dedication and hard work during her tenure as Presiding Officer. Throughout the seven years I have served on this board, we have accomplished a great deal—creating the Complaint and Audit Committees, addressing local rules, and standardizing procedures that had long been in practice but not formalized. It is a privilege to work with such a dedicated group of board members and bonding companies' representatives, who all contribute to this important work.”
The Montgomery County Bail Bond Board holds public meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at noon in the Commissioners Courtroom at the Sadler Building.
