Yavapai County Fire Consortium - Congress Fire District

Congress Fire crews responded to a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 93 with Priority Ambulance, Wickenburg Fire, and Lifeline Ambulance. Upon arrival, they discovered two heavily damaged vehicles and multiple patients with injuries. Tragically, three fatalities were confirmed. AirEvac air transported one patient to a nearby hospital, while Priority and Lifeline ambulances ground transported two patients to a trauma center. The Department of Public Safety (DPS), Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO), and Wickenburg Police Department are currently on the scene. As a result of the accident, Highway 93 is closed in both directions.

❤️ Lending a hand beyond the emergency call

CAFMA Engine 57 and WVFD-Bagdad Fire & Rescue Engine 91 crews recently assisted an older couple after the husband was transported to the hospital. With his wife unable to drive and their vehicle with a flat tire, our crews changed the tire and drove the truck to the hospital parking lot so it would be waiting for them.

Thank you to our partners on Engine 91 for teaming up with 57 to make sure this couple was cared for all the way through!

The Arizona Regional Fire Academy has begun. Today recruits were introduced to the burn box showing them a visual representation of how fire behaves and grows in its different stages of burning as well as how to identify flow paths. This day of the academy is important for all firefighters and teaches them how to identify smoke patterns and fire behavior to help them predict the hazards associated with structure fires.

Congratulations to our outstanding crews at Williamson Valley-Bagdad Fire District and Mayer Fire District for being nationally recognized for their commitment to providing the highest level of care for our patients experiencing heart attacks and strokes.

Our team has received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS Silver Achievement Award for its commitment to offering rapid and research-based care to people experiencing the most severe form of heart attacks and strokes, ultimately leading to more lives saved, shorter recovery times and fewer readmissions to the hospital. Great job, everyone!
