On the morning of February 20, 2026, work began to hoist a tower roof section onto the Bankers Loan & Trust Company Building in downtown Concordia to return the historic building's tower back to its original appearance.

The tower roof is being assembled today in preparation for its installation tomorrow morning. Join us at the Broadway Plaza to watch the installation. They will be starting at 8:00 am and expect to be lifting it up between 8:30 and 9:00. When you get to walk up to it, its size is pretty impressive, and it should be fun to see it going down the street on a trailer.

Due to the expected winds tomorrow, the installation of the tower roof has been postponed. The current schedule is looking at Friday. We will let you know as things get finalized.

Just a reminder that weather permitting, (little wind) we will be installing the reproduction of the original conical roof on the corner tower of The Bankers Loan and Trust Company Building tomorrow morning. They expect to be starting around 8:00am and to be lifting the roof up between 8:30 and 9:00. We will be having a watch party at the Broadway Plaza. BREAKING NEWS from downtown fashion headquarters:
Our historic corner tower has officially ordered itself a brand‑new fiberglass hat, and the shipment is already on the way. After spending the last 73 years going *full cue‑ball*, the tower has decided it’s time for a bold new look. Think of it as a mid‑life crisis, but with better structural engineering.

Soon, a crane will delicately place this stylish cone right on top of the tower’s head. It’s basically prom night for architecture.

We’ll announce the installation date soon — and yes, we’re hosting a watch party at the Broadway Plaza so everyone can witness this glamorous makeover. Start practicing your “oohs” and “ahhs,” and dust off your fanciest headgear. The tower is getting a hat, and we’re not about to be out‑dressed by a building.
