Our STEM students are putting their mathematical thinking to work as they explore patterns and use them to fill in XY charts during our Data & Graphing Unit! 📈 By looking for relationships, making predictions, and testing their ideas, students are building important skills in reasoning, data analysis, and mathematical problem-solving. 🧠✨

This photo shows so many great things happening at Patriots STEM Elementary School. 1. It shows hands-on, real world learning about the soil around our school’s campus. 2. It shows first grade scientists observing and documenting the world around them with scientific tools: magnifying glasses and scientific notebooks. 3. It demonstrates the vertical alignment of the elementary science curriculum. (You might remember several of our recent posts highlighted 4th grade students learning about rocks and minerals.) Well first graders also studies soil, rocks, and minerals. The depth and understanding of this content increases with age, but the foundation of a solid science curriculum starts very young.

Fourth grade was in the Collab Lab again today learning about the slow processes of weathering and erosion. Their teachers set up models of wind erosion and water erosion (on both a flat and elevated surfaces) to help make these abstract ideas clear for our young scientists.

Sure there are rain clouds in our cups, but there are smiles on our faces because at Patriots STEM Elementary School science instruction is hands-on and engaging! Thanks to for being a great guest speaker and helping our 2nd grade students grow in their understanding of weather.

Attention Families with Rising Kindergarteners & 1st Graders for the 2027-2028 School Year! If you live in the Harrisburg, Hickory Ridge, or Bethel School Zones, you can apply for your child to attend Patriots STEM Elementary through Program Choice. To learn more about STEM, come to the Patriots STEM Elementary Back to School Bash Program Choice Open House on September 17th from 6:30 - 7:30pm. STEM Info Sessions will be held at 6:30pm & 7:00pm.
