New Hampshire Fallen Firefighters Memorial On September 10, 2006 the New Hampshire Fallen Firefighters Memorial was dedicated after ten years in planning and seven months of construction.

The project was first discussed by the NH Corps of Fire Chaplains and was later picked up by the New Hampshire State Firemen’s Association. Thru the cooperation of state officials, business community, non-profits and thousands of hours of sweat equity the Memorial became a reality. Throughout the spring and early summer, site preparation and rough construction preceded the “Build Weekend” on Augus

t 25&26, 2006, where all of the pavers and flag poles were set, plants placed, and loam and bark mulch spread. The Build Weekend was attended by 160 firefighters and families from 38 New Hampshire fire service organizations. Annually the Memorial is host to the September 11 ceremony and the New Hampshire Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service. The events are open to the public and all are welcome. On this Easter, we pause to reflect on themes of hope, renewal, and remembrance.

At the New Hampshire Fallen Firefighter Memorial, we honor those who gave everything in service to others. While many gather with family and loved ones today, we also hold close the families who carry the weight of loss, especially on days meant for togetherness.
