In addition to creating new opportunities for safe and affordable housing, CATCH neighborhood Housing also devotes substantial resources every year to updating and improving its existing properties. In fact, if you were strolling in the neighborhoods of downtown Concord this spring, you may have seen all of the new fencing, railings and stairs for the eleven units of our Perley Place property! Functional? Yes. Pretty? Absolutely yes! Keeping up with regularly scheduled maintenance like this keeps our properties in their best shape, so our tenants can enjoy both their interior AND exterior living spaces all year round! 🏡

Recently, staff and board members representing CATCH Neighborhood Housing and our property management group Alliance Asset Management participated in the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce’s 38th annual ‘Funds for Education’ golf tournament! Funds raised through this tourney support capital area education and leadership education initiatives for local students and youth. It was a great day on course under bluebird skies, and our board and staff always appreciate the opportunity to help give back to the community!

Yesterday, at a meeting of Concord Rotarians, CATCH Neighborhood Housing President & CEO Tom Furtado had the opportunity to question Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander about the proposed bipartisan federal legislation she is co-sponsoring known as the “Build Housing Affordably Act,” which would temporarily pause, investigate and likely reform the complex and often expensive BABA (Build America, Buy America) requirements currently associated with affordable housing construction projects that use any government funding. As they currently exist, BABA compliance requirements often add costs, cause extensive supply delays, and substantially slow down the construction of affordable housing. With New Hampshire’s current affordable housing needs, we appreciate all those who are asking the tough questions!

Staff highlight loading!! 🤩 Cassiah Morrissette joined the Alliance Asset Management team last November and promptly hit the ground running! With a background in property management and customer service, she brings with her a positive attitude, an eye for detail and a talent for getting things done on time and with a huge smile.

Morrissette is the Property Manager for the Vose Farm Residences development in Peterborough, NH, phase one of which was completed in early January of this year. Owned by Catholic Charities NH and managed by Alliance Asset Management, Morrissette and the Alliance team are in the process of leasing the 64 affordable workforce housing apartments included in this first phase of the project. In fact, they only have one (!!) apartment available to rent left!

From tenant questions and lease signings, to signage, grass seeding, maintenance needs and contractor coordination, Morrissette continues to balance the diverse roles of a property manager with flexibility and patience!

How it started……and how it’s going! 🌱The Friedman Court II Garden Gang have done it again! Despite a slow, cool spring, and current dry conditions, the property’s resident green thumb gardeners have grown an outstanding harvest of fresh vegetables, herbs and flowers. These folks manage to grow more produce in a few pots and elevated garden beds than most people get out of a much larger scale operation. From basil and parsley to tomatoes, cukes, peppers, beans and onions, it’s obvious that these talented folks find joy in watching their gardens grow and making their home and property a beautiful place to live. Thanks to Alliance Asset Management and the support of TD and the TD Charitable Foundation for helping to make resident services programs and opportunities like this possible for those who call our properties HOME! ❤️
