Village of Concord

Village of Concord Welcome to the picturesque Village of Concord, a quaint community which has embraced and promotes its small town status, values, and ideals.

Concord is a small village filled with turn of the century homes (much of which are on the National Historic Registry) adorned with Victorian architectural features and well kept landscaped yards our residents take pride in. A downtown business district of two story red brick buildings from the Victorian era is home to prosperous businesses and small town urban living in the second stories. The Vi

llage of Concord is the quintessential bedroom community within an hour drive proximity to the large urban centers of Ann Arbor, Battle Creek, Jackson, Kalamazoo, and Lansing. The Village of Concord is a recreation friendly community who through sensible utilization of public, private, and grant funding has built a substantial parks and recreation network which highlight the vast natural resources located in and around our community:

Located on the banks of the Kalamazoo River, what once served as a hub of economic activity now serves as a source for water recreation for our residents. Water recreation opportunities in Concord include a boat launch at Concord’s Mill Pond Park and Paddock Lake and a canoe/kayak launch into the Kalamazoo River at Spring Street. Our section of the Kalamazoo River is home to some of the best small mouth bass fishing in the State of Michigan with near State record catches being caught regularly. Our nearby neighboring communities are abounding with water recreation opportunities as well our residents find enjoyable and useful. A railroad bed which once served as a hub of economic activity now serves as a source for non-motorized trail recreation for our residents. The Village of Concord’s non-motorized trail system is part of the Falling Water’s Trail which runs into Jackson, the State of Michigan’s Great Lake to Lake Trail which runs from Port Huron to South Haven, and the State of Michigan’s Iron Belle Trail which runs from Belle Isle and to Ironwood. Other trail recreation resources include a vast sidewalk system and a ½ mile road side non-motorized trail to the recreation opportunities at Swains Lake County Park. The Village of Concord is home to Gottschalk Park a acre park with a playground for kids, a soccer field, multiple ball diamonds, a basketball , a tennis, and a beach volleyball court. Gottschalk Park is also home to two pavilions and the Concord Community Center. The 37 acre Paddock Lake Park is an undisturbed nature area with a public access boat launch into Paddock Lake. The Village of Concord is home to the mighty Yellow Jackets of Concord Community Schools. Concord Community Schools prides itself on its small classroom setting and a knowledgeable staff always willing to assist their students. There is community pride and collaboration between Concord Schools and the Village of Concord. On the athletic fields Concord School’s is known for their multiple State championships in Cross Country, Volleyball, and Track and Field. Come make the Village of Concord your bedroom community of choice
