It's National Library Week!

Heather Levasseur (Henry W. Moore School) has worked to build a school-wide culture that promotes lifelong reading habits and celebrates engagement with books. To keep the library experience fresh and engaging, she actively leverages her professional network and conference learning to bring back new ideas, strategies, and inspiration. Heather has developed and implemented a comprehensive K–8 media literacy curriculum to address a critical gap in formal instruction and ensure that all students receive consistent, scaffolded learning in this area. By building and expanding a vertically aligned K–8 curriculum, she is equipping students with essential skills to navigate digital environments thoughtfully, responsibly, and critically.

The Rosen Publishing Northern New England School Librarian of the Month is a new award that recognizes Maine Association of School Librarians (MASL) , School Library Section of the NH Library Association (formerly NHSLMA), & Vermont School Library Association (VSLA) members who provide outstanding service to their school community or to the school library community.

🏅 & .publishing would like to congratulate March’s Northern New England School Librarian of the Month- Donna Zecha from Hopkinton Middle/High School.

Donna received several nominations, with one nominator stating, “I don’t think there is an arena of school librarianship in NH that Donna hasn’t contributed to. She is likely the longest running member of the Conference Committee. She works on the call for presenters, scheduling, and general conference help. She gives great thought and consideration to how to arrange all of the sessions for maximum impact and typically presents at least one session every conference.”

Both nominators recognized Donna’s impact on the profession through her role as a teaching lecturer at Plymouth State University. Additionally, Donna was a member of the NH School Library Media Association board for many years.

🍎 Established in 1950, the Rosen Publishing Group offers engaging print and digital books on a wide range of topics that are aligned with the curriculum. Rosen is also known for databases and interactive e-books. 📕

This generous award includes a set of Rosen Publishing print titles for the Profile School Library, as well as a year’s subscription to a Rosen database.

The NH school library community is fortunate to have a librarian of Donna’s caliber in our ranks.

🥳Congratulations, Donna!
