Robotics, anyone? Yesterday was a fantastic day at Clayton Valley Charter High School where teams from around the Bay Area and as far north as Granite Bay came together to compete in a VEX competion - coding, creativity, and comraderie! Small bots batting it out.

Congratulations to our local youth who captured some special awards and who showed strength in the arena.

Presenting my first community listening session as Mayor of Concord. Join me for a scoop while you get the scoop on all things Concord! If you plan to attend, share your favorite 🍧 flavor in the comments. 🍨

Enjoy this video - my debut as Mayor and scenes from last night's Council meeting.

Scouts from Troop 444 spoke about e-bikes and e-motos and the need for better education on speeds and safety. We also approved a program in our Housing Element that will allow for housing to be built 7 feet taller - allowing room for higher ceilings and higher quality architecture. Towards the end of the evening I made my appointments to the Council Committees known and took the opportunity to tout all the other regional boards and commissions that we, as electeds, sit on to represent our city.

Save The Date for a Day of Service (x 2) - January 19th

There are two meaningful opportunities in Concord to to give back, connect with neighbors, and care for the parks and open space we all share and enjoy. Join us at Hillcrest Community Park for creek clean up and mulching OR at Lime Ridge for caring for the native plant garden and trees.

To help at Hillcrest Community Park, see the flyer.
To help at Lime Ridge, see the first comment.

Happy New Year, Concord. Our city is home to people of many backgrounds, beliefs, cultures, and experiences—and that diversity is one of our greatest strengths. As we begin a new year, may we move forward with curiosity, kindness, and respect for one another, and continue building a more connected, cohesive Concord that works for everyone.

A couple years ago (maybe more...) my own children were enrolled in the City’s preschool program at Centre Concord. It's a wonderful program with caring educators and a fun way to meet other families.

From my home in Concord to yours—

Merry Christmas! Today is a time to pause and appreciate the people who make our lives, and our city, feel like home. I hope your day includes moments of joy, comfort, and connection—whether you’re celebrating with loved ones or enjoying a quieter Christmas.

I also want to offer my sincere thanks to the many City of Concord employees who serve our community every day, including those working this holiday to keep us safe, supported, and connected. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and our city is better because of you.

Wishing you a peaceful Christmas and a hopeful year ahead. 🎄✨

Did you ever dream of being invited to be a game show contestant? 🎤✨

I had the opportunity to be one of the very first contestants at The Game Show Studio, and I can honestly say—it’s a blast. This immersive, high-energy experience brings the excitement of a real TV game show right here to Concord at The Veranda, alongside Red Door Escape Room.

This is a fantastic new destination for family fun, friends, celebrations, and team outings. Congratulations to the team on their grand opening and on adding another great experience to our local business community. 🎉

🎬✨ Let the games begin, Concord!

I had a wonderful time at the Winter Solstice Spirit Jam with Diablo Taiko. What an empowering afternoon!

Truth be told, I'm a bit sore, but I shouldn't be surprised...the workshop started with 15 minutes of warming up and stretching.
