Conchas Lake-U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Welcome to the official page for Conchas Lake & Dam. The dam is located just below the confluence of the Conchas and South Canadian Rivers.

Conchas Lake is located in the East Central part of San Miguel County and within the boundaries of the Pablo Montoya Grant. The lake extends 11 miles Southwest along the Conchas River and Northwest of the South Canadian River for approximately 14 miles. The dam controls a drainage area of 7,409 square miles. Conchas Lake was constructed primarily to provide flood control and water storage for irri

gation. Today recreation is added to the many missions that occur at Conchas. Conchas Lake manages a Recreation area including 20 campsites, a public boat ramp, day use area, restrooms, and a large parking area.
