Centennial High School Alumni Association (C.H.S.A.A.) Scholarship Awards!!

Congratulations To The Centennial High School Alumni Association (C.H.S.A.A.) Scholarship Award Winners!

We were very proud to inform (7) seven Centennial High School students on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Senior breakfast that they were the recipients of the Centennial High School Alumni Association (C.H.S.A.A.) Scholarships for the 2014-2015 school year.

The students will receive their scholarship payments upon confirmation of their enrollment at the beginning of their College semester(s).

The Scholarships have come into existence through the dedication and efforts of the Centennial High School Alumni Association (C.H.S.A.A.) for the worthy students to pursue their education peacefully.

This is the second year that the Centennial High School Alumni Association (C.H.S.A.A.) has been privileged to give out student scholarships. In 2013 the Centennial High School Alumni Association (C.H.S.A.A) gave out (9) nine scholarships to worthy Centennial High School students.

We hope that these scholarships will help the recipients fulfill their dreams and let them study with less financial worries.

The Centennial High School Alumni Association (C.H.S.A.A.) is a non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501 (c) (3) as determined by the Internal Revenue Service means your donations/contributions are tax-deductible. (Federal Tax ID #45-3056069).

The Centennial High School Alumni Association Meetings Are (Every First Tuesday Of The Month), Next Centennial High School Alumni Association Meeting Is Tomorrow Tuesday, June 02, 2015 6:00 - 7:30 pm @ Centennial High School, In The School's Library.

OUR MISSION:
To help restore and thereby maintain, at Centennial High School a proud Apache heritage of excellence in academics, leadership and athletics; and to spearhead the resurrection of our alma mater’s rich tradition of spirited support systems, both on and off campus, which cultivated moral values, comradery and inspired conscious social involvement in school activities.

To help provide effective educational programs and sustainable wherewithal sources that ensures the probability of student success.

Finally, to always operate in the spirit of cooperation for maximal benefits of teamwork.

Entrance To Centennial High School Library: For future Alumni meetings, there will be no more parking in front of Centennial High (Central Ave.) or entrance through the school front doors after school hours.

Please drive/enter school grounds through the gate on Central Ave. and park on the Senior Square/Quad Area blacktop by the library and inter through back doors.

The high school in Compton had a small, financially starved music program until hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar decided to give back to his old school. Since the donation, the music director has been able to establish both string and jazz ensembles and buy dozens of new instruments and music supplies.

BEREAVEMENT NOTICE!: DESSIE ZETAR-SENEGAL C/O '54
Gone But Not Forgotten!!

Hello Apache Alumni!

I received the sad news that our fellow Alumni DESSIE ZETAR-SENEGAL C/O '54 passed away on April 07, 2015. Dessie, was one of the four or five students in the first class that graduated from Centennial High School in 1954.

Dessie, was an active member of the Centennial High School Alumni Association (C.H.S.A.A.) & she will be missed!!

Funeral Services Pending:

Prayers and condolences go out to the entire Zetar-Senegal family.

May God bless and comfort the Zetar-Senegal family during this very difficult time.

Centennial High School - Class Of 1975 - 40 Year Reunion! “Let’s Do It Again”

Dear Alumni:

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost 40 years since we graduated from Centennial High School (The Ten)! Many of your fellow classmates have expressed an interest in our 40 year reunion, and we would love to see you there. This is a great opportunity to catch up with some of your old friends and reminisce about the “Good Old Days”. The 40 year reunion committee has been working hard to make this happen, but in order to make our 40 year reunion a success, we need your assistance.

We have connected with several Alumni on FaceBook, Classmates, and we have old emails and postal addresses form our other reunions. We want to include everyone, so please pass the word, and reach out to those you know.

40 Year Reunion Date: April 25, 2015

Location: The Loft (Upstairs) 12823 S. Avalon Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90061

Time: 8:00 pm - 2:00 am

Cost: $40.00 per person before February 25, 2015 and $50.00 per person after February 25, 2015. The deadline for all payments/reservations is March 25, 2015.

The celebration will start with cocktails (Cash Bar) followed by a buffet dinner by our fellow classmate Delbert “Bay” Gordon (Magic Fingers “Eat em Up”) from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Music will be provided by our fellow classmate Lonzo “Eric” Williams (CHOF “The Loft“).

Hello Classmates & Alumni!

I pray that all of you and your families have been well.

Our 40 Year Class Reunion date has been set. Our 40 Year Class Reunion will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 @ The Loft (Upstairs) 12823 S. Avalon Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90061, 8:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M., Dressy Attire.

We, the 40 Year Reunion Committee look forward to seeing all of you and enjoying a wonderful evening of reminiscing, dancing, raffles and door prizes.

Although our 40 Year Reunion is (5) five months away; it's never too soon to start sending your Reunion payment(s) in. The sooner the better which will allow our Catering, Room deposit, and D.J. bill; as well as other necessities for the Reunion to be taken care of.

We would love to see everyone attend the 40 Year Class Reunion! Although, we understand if you cannot attend.

Please RSVP as soon as you know for sure you will be attending.

RSVPs are very important to the Committee in planning and working with the Caterer with menu selections and a head-count.

Due to the economic recession still going strong; we have kept the price of the Reunion at a much lower and more affordable price of $40.00 before February 25, 2015 and $50.00 after February 25, 2015. The deadline of all reservations is March 25, 2015.

Please send in your Reunion payments as soon as your budget allows and/or as soon as you possibly can. For those of you who are able to; (perhaps) you may be able to pay for another Classmate to attend or (maybe) send in a donation if you will not be able to attend.
