If you need a place to cool off during hot weather, several City of Compton parks are available as cooling centers during regular operating hours.

Stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during peak heat and check on older adults, young children and neighbors who may need assistance.

Metro is planning a nighttime directional full freeway closure on westbound I-105 from I-605 to Lakewood Bl to perform construction activities in support of the I-105 Express Lanes Project.

Westbound I-105 closure: Thursday, Oct. 15: I-605 to Lakewood Bl
Freeway lane reductions may begin as early as 8 pm on Thursday, Oct. 15, followed by a directional full freeway closure from 12 am to 4 am.

Corresponding freeway ramps will also be closed as needed to safely perform the work. Advance signage will be in place to notify motorists of freeway, lane and ramp closures and designated detours.

Construction is dynamic, and work schedules are subject to change based on the progress of work and weather conditions.
