Hey everyone! I recently finished my “Short Walk” across Colorado, which was 344 miles. I began in Wyoming and walked the length of Colorado, ending in New Mexico. I got support from local media such as Channel 9 news Denver, ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox News in Colorado Springs. At Ft. Carson I was honored to for my efforts to help veterans by being given a Post Coin. The cities of Pueblo, Walsenburg, and Trinidad also held welcome events as I passed through, along with support letters and proclamations. Congressman Ed Perlmutter recognized my efforts with Congressional report. As you can see the local media and many in Colorado supported me as I raised awareness of the issues many veterans face. But we are not done yet!
The Ben Cordova Foundation will begin our walk across America, from San Diego, CA to Washington DC on April 15. That’s a total of 2,745 miles will walk to raise funds and awareness for our Veterans Assistance Center. Our goal is to raise $10 million dollars to better serve those that have sacrificed for us.
These funds will be used to aid ALL U.S. Veterans who need legal representation, employment and educational aid. We intend to establish a Veterans Resource Center where veterans can find needed resources and guidance to help them thrive after leaving the military community and reintegrating back into civilian society. –Ben Cordova
