And four makes a felony.
Last week we were called to a business parking lot after witnesses reported seeing a man assault a woman in a vehicle (thank you to the concerned citizens who elected to call 911).
Our bike patrol unit made contact with the suspect-- who showed obvious signs of impairment and had an open container of alcohol in his SUV.
He refused to participate in roadside tests, instead insisting he would just walk home. That's not an option, though, and he was arrested for domestic violence assault as well as on suspicion of DUI; officers learned he had three prior DUI convictions, making this one a felony.
We have zero tolerance for domestic abuse and people who repeatedly get behind the wheel in a state that endangers the rest of us.
This arrest is brought to you by good police work and good samaritans.
