You blew our minds, Commerce City, by turning out in droves for our Dia de los Mu***os celebration last night!

We painted a record number of faces, gave away a record number of free bikes, danced our tuchuses off, inhaled pizza and tamales, whacked the candy out of a bunch of piñatas, and celebrated our family members at a beautifully crafted ofrenda.

What a night! What’s important to you is important to us. Thanks for sharing your heartfelt traditions— we felt like one big family❤️

And five years later with the flip of more than a dozen golden shovels-- it's official: we've broken ground on our new North Range Substation!

This project ensures every resident of our city receives the same exemplary police services from us.

Our officers and detectives are so proud to protect and serve you, soon without a geographic barrier.

To our courageous survivors of domestic violence-- you are not alone.

We see you. And we wear purple so you see us.

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month and really every month, our victim advocate partners with BOVA (the Brighton Office for Victim Assistance) want to remind you that you have a support system when you're ready to come forward.

Just look for the purple people. We're YOUR people.

Congratulations, Officer Carreno!

The Commerce City Police Department is excited to welcome new lateral hire Officer Carreno, who comes to us with twelve years of experience at various law enforcement agencies in the Denver-metro.

She was officially sworn-in by Mayor Steve Douglas in Council Chambers last week, and her son proudly pinned on her badge.

Officer Carreno earned her Bachelors Degree in psychology from Metropolitan State University and her Masters Degree in forensic psychology from Denver University. Prior to transitioning to a career in policing, she was a therapist who worked with s*x offenders.

We're psyched (see what we did there?) to have her on the CCPD team. Welcome to the family, ma'am!

Detective Cazares needs your help!

We are collecting hygiene products for survivors of domestic violence during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

On Friday, we’re packing all your donations into “go bags” so survivors don’t have to leave their dangerous situations with nothing.

But we can’t make the bags unless we fill the bin. It’s located in the lobby of our Civic Center (7887 E 60th Ave). Please consider making a contribution.

And please share this post to spread the word— our resilient survivors need your support.

Totally free face-painting, balloon-making, piñata-busting, tamale-eating, hot chocolate-drinking, and folklorico dancing!

It's CCPD's 4th annual "Dia de los Mu***os" or "Day of the Dead" celebration, held this year on Friday, October 30th, from 6pm to 9pm, at Our Lady Mother of the Church (6690 E 72nd Avenue)!

Officer Rosales with our Crime Prevention Unit walks you through the details of this beautiful event we're so proud to partner with the church to hold every year-- completely free.

Why? Because we don't just work in this community-- we're a part of this community and the traditions that are important to you are important to us!

See you Friday, Commerce City!

How was your weekend, Commerce City?

Like we tell you every Monday, ours was busy protecting and serving the community we love. We arrested a juvenile with a stolen handgun, a guy with a felony warrant who tried to flee on foot, and two attempted stabbing suspects.

For all the details on those incidents plus the rest of the most significant calls your CCPD patrol officers responded to over the past few days, here's this Monday's edition of your Weekend High or Lowlights👇
