And four makes a felony.

Last week we were called to a business parking lot after witnesses reported seeing a man assault a woman in a vehicle (thank you to the concerned citizens who elected to call 911).

Our bike patrol unit made contact with the suspect-- who showed obvious signs of impairment and had an open container of alcohol in his SUV.

He refused to participate in roadside tests, instead insisting he would just walk home. That's not an option, though, and he was arrested for domestic violence assault as well as on suspicion of DUI; officers learned he had three prior DUI convictions, making this one a felony.

We have zero tolerance for domestic abuse and people who repeatedly get behind the wheel in a state that endangers the rest of us.

This arrest is brought to you by good police work and good samaritans.

How was your weekend, Commerce City?

Like we tell you every Monday, ours was busy per usual. We assisted another jurisdiction with taking a felony menacing suspect into custody, woke up and arrested a drunk driver, and investigated a drive-by shooting that injured one person (fortunately not critically) and damaged vehicles.

For all the details on those incidents plus the rest of the most significant calls your CCPD patrol officers responded to over the past few days, here’s this Monday’s edition of your Weekend High or Lowlights👇

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Ah shucks, girls😊

These three lovely ladies with Commerce City Girl Scout Troop 68386 picked lil ole us as their Hometown Heroes… and donated boxes upon boxes of cookies to our PD!

Officers Victoria and Yamaguchi were more than happy to show them our cool equipment and give them a meet and pet with K9 Chase as a thank you!

Thanks for thinking of us, Scouts! Your cookies will be eaten by EOD🍪

Lemonade with the Law is underway at Reunion Rec Center up north (we mistakenly said Bison Ridge yesterday— our bad) and Pioneer Park down south!

Come see Sergeant McCoy and his crew at either location and they’ll hook you up with a totally free cup o’ lemonade!

Why? Well 1. Because it’s hot outside and lemonade is a refreshing drink. And 2. Because we love connecting with our community! Building trusting relationships with you allows us to do our jobs most effectively.

So see you at Lemonade with the Law: putting the “serve” in “protect and serve!”

We’re calling it “Lemonade with the Law”… putting the “serve” in “protect and serve!”

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and at CCPD, we’re so proud to be decriminalizing and prioritizing mental health thanks to our new Co-Responder Unit.

Kate and Amber are licensed clinicians (and Amber’s a doc) who accompany patrol officers on calls where the subject might be better served by a counselor rather than a cop and treatment rather than jail or institutionalization.

Since the creation of CRU at the start of 2026, Kate and Amber have responded to 157 calls for service, successfully avoided charges and arrests on 20 of those calls, and avoided a mental health hold or hospitalization on 46 of those calls. Instead, they’ve connected those community members with resources so they can get the help they need. Fantastic work, ladies.

This month and every month we and the community are so lucky to have you❤️

Do you recognize me? A few nights ago I brazenly broke into a laundromat/dry cleaners in the 15500 block of E 103rd Place, stealing both cash and clothes. But I didn’t realize the business I victimized had high quality surveillance cameras and my face was totally visible.

If you believe you know who I am, please reach out to Investigator Barnes so I can be held accountable for my crimes: [email protected].

Hi again friends. Our PD is committed to maintaining safe roadways and sidewalks for everyone who lives, works, and travels through our community.

We’re still seeing a continued increase in the use of prohibited off-highway vehicles— especially e-motorcycles— on public streets and in areas meant for pedestrians.

These vehicle are being operated in ways that place riders, drivers, and pedestrians at significant risk. Both city residents and our officers have documented instances of dangerous weaving though traffic, high-speed travel, and OHVs forcing community members off sidewalks. This behavior endangers all of us, and we cannot let it continue.

We know that riding e-motorcycles can be fun and that they’re expensive, so we don’t WANT to impound them. But failure to stop when approached by a police officer can be a crime— and may result in us seizing your OHV.

Again— it’s not about being the “fun police.” We maintain that we are in actuality, very fun police. It’s about working together to follow the rules and maintain a safe environment for all who call Commerce City home.

Respectful but resolute.

It means we’ll arrest you for your crimes… but treat you with dignity when we do it.

When a task force alerted us to a suspect in our city with a federal POWPO (Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender) warrant for his arrest yesterday, we immediately went to the suspect’s residence and took him into custody.

If you’re dangerous (in this case an armed convicted felon) and you’re in our community, we’ll be making contact with you. It’s only a matter of time.

Good work, patrol.

We love serving our diverse community❤️

Officer Soto-Seda was so honored when these teens asked him to take a picture with them while he was working to ensure their safety at an event for Eid Al-Adha, the Islamic holiday.

We’re proud to protect your right to worship however you choose🙏
