Customers along S Jones street may notice low to no water pressure due to a leak repair. This is due to a vehicle colliding into a fire hydrant. The estimated time for restoration of water services is 1:00pm-2:00pm.

The City of Comanche has opened the Community Center located at 100 Indian Creek Drive as a "Cooling Station" due to today's severe heat. It will be open from 11:00am until dusk today and tomorrow. For daily opening inquiries please call City Hall at 325-356-2616.

Public Works recently implemented an operations plan to test and perform routine maintenance on all fire hydrants within the city. This is necessary to ensure fire hydrants are in good working order should the use of one be required. As part of the operations plan, Public Works has begun "black bagging" the inoperable fire hydrants that need repair or replacement. This visually notifies all employees and the Fire Department which fire hydrants need repair or replacement. The visual identification is in addition to notifying the Fire Department of each location. This is a widespread practice for many municipalities when performing fire hydrant checks. Hydrant replacement and/or repairs will begin next week and are being prioritized by the location of the nearest hydrant to the inoperable one. Please do not remove the black bags and know that repairs or replacement will be performed on the affected hydrants.

A water leak has been identified at Page and Paine. Residents in the area may notice low to no water pressure during repair. The repair is estimated to be completed this afternoon. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

85th Annual Comanche Rodeo canceled both nights due to excessive rain on June 19.
Rescheduled for next weekend June 26-27.
