It was a true family affair at Dimon Magnet School’s After School Program as students, families, and friends came together to celebrate the children’s hard work and good grades! Everyone enjoyed fellowship, encouragement, and a special treat while recognizing the dedication our scholars put into their schoolwork. Students at the Mary A. Buckner After School Program created their very own orchestra! Through music, they explored rhythm, teamwork, listening skills, creativity, and self expression while working together to make a joyful sound. Activities like this help students build confidence, practice collaboration, and discover new talents in a fun, supportive environment. At the Blanchard After School Program, students are creating STEM based Q-tip dot art! 🎨🔬 Using Q-tips to make colorful dots helps children explore patterns, shapes, symmetry, counting, and color combinations while strengthening their fine motor skills.
Did you know? Dot art is a fun way for children to practice early math and engineering skills as they plan designs, recognize patterns, and problem-solve through creativity! 💡Columbus Parks and Recreation is proud to provide hands-on activities that make learning exciting beyond the school day! 🌟
