This project wrapped up last year but this is the first time we’ve gotten around to sharing it. The lot came into the Land Bank with a blighted structure that had to be removed. After the demolition the Land Bank prepped the lot for new construction, a buyer was found, and now this parcel is once again the site of a family’s home.

The City of Columbus is seeking public feedback on Zone In Phase II, the next step in modernizing our 70-year-old zoning code.

The draft covers more than 70,000 parcels, about 41% of the city. It focuses on additional mixed-use corridors, industrial and warehouse districts, and major business and institutional campuses. It would also open the door for more housing, increasing the capacity for new homes to 119,000 over the next 10 years, up from 13,000. The proposal will create clearer zoning rules and support jobs and investment, too.

Comments are open through Oct. 24. Review the draft and take the online survey, or visit the Zone In Public Gallery at 141 N. Front St. to see maps and talk with the team. Click on the link in the comments to learn more. Columbus Department of Development

The Zone In Team is hosting a webinar to review the Zone In Phase II: Economic & Housing Opportunity proposal which will include a presentation by the Zone In team followed by a question and answer session diving into the proposed zoning districts and map.

A few months ago we visited this infill construction project that replaced a house that was demolished. The property had come into the Land Bank as a donation and is now once again the home to a family.
