Spring weather conditions, including high temperatures and rainfall, are prompting an early start to the mosquito season.

Due to high mosquito counts and positive West Nile virus test results, Worthington's health agency, Columbus Public Health (CPH), will conduct mosquito spraying in Worthington on Tuesday, June 23, between 4:00 and 7:00 am, weather permitting.

The Worthington Division of Police proudly recognizes Sgt. Wayne O’Neal on his graduation from the Supervisor Training and Education Program (STEP), Class ###V, Spring 2026.

STEP is designed for first line supervisors, as they enter their new position, providing what is needed to meet the new job and organizational requirements.

Sgt. O’Neal covered 21 learning modules where supervisory and leadership theory is translated into professional practice. In addition, through his journal writing, book reports, capstone papers, and working on a contemporary issue team presentation, he can reflect and put into practice what he has learned. He had many networking opportunities with fellow first line supervisors who may serve as a resource for him in the future.

STEP’s mission is to provide a unique and innovative leadership education, geared toward today’s demands, and tomorrow's needs.

Congratulations Sgt. O’Neal on this impressive achievement!

The City of Worthington Charter Review Commission is currently reviewing the City’s Charter and recommending amendments to City Council. The Commission is seeking public input ahead of finalizing their recommendations.

Opportunities for public input include:
➡️ Through the online form at the link above;
➡️ Fill out a paper form at City Hall, the Griswold Center, or the Community Center;
➡️ Attend the Charter Review Commission Meeting on June 23 at 4:30 PM at City Hall (comments will be limited to three minutes per person);
➡️ Email [email protected].

The deadline for submitting electronic or written comments is Monday, June 22 at 12:00 PM. The Commission intends to finalize its recommendations at its meeting on June 23 to meet the timeline for the November election. The recommendations will be presented for City Council consideration in July.

City Council will need to pass an ordinance before the end of July in order for any Charter amendments to be on the ballot at the November 3, 2026 election. There will be additional opportunities for public input on the Commission’s recommendations prior to Council’s passage of an ordinance.

Did you know that Service & Engineering crews are responsible for maintaining over 750 hydrants?

When a hydrant is no longer repairable, the team is tasked with replacing it. This process involves hydro excavating to safely remove the old, non-operable hydrant before installing a new replacement.

The Service team tries to replace approximately 10 hydrants annually. Thanks for all you do for Worthington!

Celebrate Juneteenth this Thursday with a special Night Market in historic Old Worthington. The Worthington Community Relations Commission is supporting the community gathering presented by The Worthington Partnership. The event includes music, food trucks, art, creatives and much more. Come downtown and enjoy the celebration!

We are so excited to celebrate Juneteeth in Worthington at our Third Thursday Night Market on June 18th. This community event features black-owned businesses, creatives, music, and art in Old Worthington! DJ Joseph Moore will be spinning tunes, we'll have live art, food trucks, vendors, and more!

Mark your calendars for Worthington's 4th of July celebration, featuring the Rotary Family Picnic, fireworks, and a special America250 exhibit! 🎆

The Rotary Family Picnic begins at 5:30 pm on the lawn of the McConnell Arts Center and includes food, games, and live music.

The McConnell Arts Center opens at 5:00 pm and will feature a special America250 display presented by the Worthington Historical Society.

📆 Stadium seating opens at 9:00 pm.
📆 Fireworks begin at 10:00 pm.

Parking will be extremely limited due to ongoing construction at Thomas Worthington High School.

Attendees are encouraged to walk or bike to the event if possible.
