On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, the Day of the Girl Summit, organized by Center For Healthy Families, unfolded with great energy. Fast forward four years, and the event has grown, now taking place at COSI. Young women from all over Central Ohio came together for a day brimming with motivating conversations, interactive activities, empowering affirmations, and genuine encouragement from women leaders in various fields.

Franklin County is proud to partner on She Carried It Here: The Return — a gathering centered on Black motherhood, early childhood, and the traditions carried across the Black diaspora from Africa to America.

This event brings together mothers, caregivers, birth workers, and community partners to reflect on the practices, values, and conditions that help children grow healthy, rooted, and whole.

Our partnership reflects Franklin County’s commitment to supporting families, strengthening community bonds, and uplifting spaces where cultural knowledge, storytelling, and connection are honored.

A protected, women-centered circle — held at Zora’s House — reminding us that community care is essential, and that personal stories shared in circles stay in circles.

The Columbus Region is growing, and the decisions being made now will shape how we live, work, move, and do business for years to come. Columbus: What’s Next? Columbus Chamber President and CEO Derrick R. Clay will sit down with two leaders helping shape that future:
