Today marked an incredible moment in the history of Delta Company, 30th Adjutant General Reception Battalion, 194th Armored Brigade, here at Fort Benning. We gathered to honor both the legacy of the outgoing commander and the promise of a new beginning.

CPT Stockton Obermeyer has led with unwavering dedication, professionalism, and compassion. His time in command was defined by a relentless drive to take care of Soldiers, build cohesion within the ranks, and set the standard for excellence across the formation. Under his leadership, Delta Company stood taller, trained harder, and embodied the true meaning of teamwork and resilience.

As we turn the page, we proudly welcome CPT Ashante Finnie as our new commander. Her passion, vision, and energy are exactly what this company needs to continue moving forward. Change of command is never just a ceremony it is a reminder that while leaders transition, the mission and the spirit of the unit live on. With CPT Finnie at the helm, Delta Company is in great hands, ready to rise to every challenge and accomplish every mission with pride and purpose.

Charlie Company’s Change of Responsibility, saying goodbye to 1SG McDerman, and welcoming 1SG St. Armour.

And the DSOY changeover ceremony with DS Serrano releasing his position in the BN to DS Lockhart.

Today we had the honor of recognizing an absolute cornerstone of the 30th Adjutant General Battalion — Ms. Karen D. Kelly.

From day one, Ms. Kelly didn’t walk into a functioning program… she stood it up. She built the Military & Family Life Counselor program here at 30th AG from the ground up, laying the foundation for a service that now directly supports thousands of trainees and families every year.

Through tireless dedication, unmatched compassion, and a relentless commitment to our Soldiers, Ms. Kelly ensured that no trainee felt unseen, unheard, or unsupported during one of the most stressful transitions of their lives. Her presence, her counsel, and her heart have strengthened not just individuals, but the entire battalion.

Her impact will be felt long after today, in every Soldier who stayed in the fight, every family that found clarity, and every Drill Sergeant who saw the difference her work made.

Ms. Kelly, thank you for what you built, what you gave, and the legacy you leave behind.

Today the 30th Adjutant General Battalion had the honor of presenting Certificates of Appreciation to our outstanding DFAC management team for their exceptional support during this year’s Thanksgiving meal.

Each year Thanksgiving is a meaningful moment for the thousands of young men and women who begin their Army journey here at Fort Benning. For many of our trainees this is their first holiday away from home, and the quality of the meal they receive makes a tremendous impact on morale, resiliency, and their overall experience. This year our DFAC leaders and staff went above and beyond, coordinating early mornings, extended preparation hours, and meticulous planning to deliver a meal that truly reflected the Army’s commitment to caring for its Soldiers.

Their effort was felt across the entire battalion. From the presentation of the dining facility, to the professionalism of the staff, to the exceptional quality of the food, our trainees were given a Thanksgiving experience that helped them feel supported, valued, and part of something bigger.

We are grateful for the DFAC team’s unwavering dedication, their partnership with our cadre and leadership, and their continued commitment to excellence. The success of our mission begins with people like them, leaders who take pride in serving those who serve.

Today, our 30th AG leaders rolled up their sleeves and served Thanksgiving meals to our newest trainees. From the Battalion leadership to Company Leadership, everyone stepped behind the line to welcome them with a warm meal and an even warmer sense of belonging.

A small moment, but a meaningful one, reminding our trainees that they’re part of something larger from the very first day. 🦃✨

We also took time to bid farewell to those moving on to their next chapter, whether advancing to new units, schools, or well earned opportunities. Your contributions to the Reception Battalion have shaped thousands of trainees and upheld the proud legacy of this organization. The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

30th AG Battalion Org Day – Uchee Creek 🌳🇺🇸

Today, the Soldiers, leaders, families, and friends of the 30th Adjutant General Battalion gathered at beautiful Uchee Creek for our Organizational Day. This wasn’t just a day on the calendar it was a chance to step back, breathe, and enjoy the blessings of fellowship, laughter, and relaxation.

In the Army, we live by a relentless rhythm of training, readiness, and responsibility. Our mission is serious. It requires sharp minds, strong bodies, and a bond of trust among teammates that cannot be broken. But to keep that edge, we must also recognize the value of moments like these moments where the uniform is set aside for a few hours, where the rank on our chest takes a back seat to the people standing beside us, and where the focus shifts from the fight ahead to the love that keeps us fighting.

An Org Day is more than softball games, good food, and laughter under the sun. It’s a deliberate pause to strengthen the foundation of our organization. Family members got to see the Soldiers they support every day in a different light relaxing, smiling, and simply enjoying time together. Friends and teammates grew closer through competition, conversation, and the kind of camaraderie that can’t be built in a formation or on a training field alone.

Events like this remind us that while discipline and readiness define us as Soldiers, it is compassion, unity, and resilience that make us stronger as people. When we return to Banks Hall, Sand Hill, or any mission set before us, we go back sharper not just because we had fun, but because we reconnected with what fuels us: our families, our friendships, and our shared purpose.

The truth is simple: if we never take time to breathe, we lose sight of why we train so hard in the first place. These pauses do not make us complacent; they prevent complacency. They keep us hungry, grounded, and focused on the mission that matters most—protecting our nation and the loved ones who stand behind us.

We don’t measure success only in victories on the battlefield or achievements in training. We measure it in the strength of the bonds we build, the families we care for, and the people we stand beside every single day.

And so, as the sun sets on a day filled with laughter, games, good food, and great battalion, we are reminded of the deeper truth that defines us as Soldiers and as people:

“We don’t fight because we hate what’s in front of us, we fight because we love what’s behind us.” ❤️💪🇺🇸

Honoring Our Drill Sergeants – De-Hatting Ceremony

Today, the 30th Adjutant General Battalion at Fort Benning came together to recognize a profound milestone in the careers of several of our most dedicated leaders. The De-Hatting Ceremony is more than a tradition, it is a moment of reflection and gratitude. It marks the conclusion of a Drill Sergeant’s time on the trail, a role that requires sacrifice, patience, and unrelenting dedication to the Army’s future.

We proudly recognized the service of:
• Drill Sergeant Celicourt – Alpha Company
• Drill Sergeant Chang – Alpha Company
• Drill Sergeant Lunsford – Bravo Company
• Drill Sergeant Weberpederson – DeltaCompany
• Drill Sergeant Munoz – Fitness Training Unit

Each of these Drill Sergeants has devoted countless hours to instilling discipline, teaching warrior skills, and ensuring that trainees understood not only the standards of the Army, but the values that bind us together as Soldiers. The time spent on the trail is among the most demanding assignments in the Army. These leaders carried the weight of that responsibility, often long into the nights and early mornings, never wavering in their duty to prepare the next generation of Soldiers.

From teaching the fundamentals of marksmanship and physical fitness, to reinforcing resilience, teamwork, and pride in wearing the uniform, their impact cannot be measured simply by the number of Soldiers trained. Their legacy is written in every Soldier who graduates and moves forward into formations across the force, Soldiers who are stronger, more disciplined, and more capable because of the Drill Sergeants who shaped them here at 30th AG.

The hat may come off today, but the title “Drill Sergeant” is one that will forever remain part of their identity. They now return to their formations with experience that few can claim, having served as the very first leaders new Soldiers encounter in the Army. This experience will continue to influence their careers, their peers, and the Soldiers they will one day lead in other capacities.

We thank DS Celicourt, DS Chang, DS Lunsford, DS Weberpederson, and DS Munoz for their unwavering professionalism, commitment, and example. Their service on the trail has left a lasting mark not only on the trainees they guided, but also on the cadre and families of the 30th Adjutant General Battalion.
