🔴🔴GRADUATION/TURNING BLUE UPDATE🔴🔴

Assassin Family, there have been a couple updates for our timelines/coordinations for our Graduation next week. This should hopefully answer any of the questions that were previously asked.

On Wednesday, 5 MAR is our Turning Blue Ceremony at 11 AM, at Kanell Field. Echo Company, 3-47 is conducting their Turning Blue Ceremony at 9 AM at the same location, so we ask families/attendees to arrive to Kanell no earlier than 1030 AM in order to allow for traffic to vacate the area.

There is a potential for inclement weather on Wednesday, so we are currently working on an alternate location if we have to make a weather call.

After Turning Blue, your Infantrymen will be released on an off-post pass until 7 PM that night. Return location will be in the parking lot across the street from Kanell Field.

On Thursday, 6 MAR we will have our graduation in conjunction with E/3-47 at 10 AM, at the National Infantry Museum. We expect a substantially large amount of attendees for both companies, so try to arrive around 915 AM to allow for any delays regarding traffic. After Graduation, for the Infantrymen flying home or to their next duty station, they will receive another off-post pass until 7 PM that night as well. Return location will be the same as the day before, at the parking lot across from Kanell field. They will get transported to the airport on 7 MAR, and fly home on the morning of the 7th.

National Guard personnel will be released after graduation on the 6th to travel home with family.

For our Infantrymen that have either Airborne or Ranger selection following graduation, they will receive a 4 day off-post pass, starting after graduation, and ending on Sunday, 9 MAR at 7 PM, drop off location will be at the same parking lot across from Kanell field.

It is recommended that you still pre-register for on-post access using the following link so that receiving on post access is faster and easier when you’re on site:

https://pass.aie.army.mil/steps/branch_selection

Shortly we will post visual views of locations for Turning Blue, Graduation, and subsequent pass drop-offs. Let us know if you have any questions!

🔵🔵 We’re almost done Assassin Family!🔵🔵

As we’re finishing up our final Field Training Exercise (FTX), the end of the cycle, and graduation is not far behind! Below are the details for the Turning Blue Ceremony, and Graduation!

Another Company from our Sister Battalion (E/3-47) is Turning Blue/Graduating on the same days as us. This means we will have "staggered" Turning Blue Ceremonies, but will conduct a Joint Graduation.

For Turning Blue:

Our Turning Blue Ceremony will be on March 5, at 11 AM At Kanell Field (The same location as our Turning Green Ceremony). Turning Blue symbolizes that your soldier has completed the requirements to join the ranks of the best trained Infantrymen in the world! At this ceremony, they will receive their Blue Cord - something that only Infantrymen can exclusively wear with their uniform. After the ceremony, your Infantrymen will be released with family to go on an off-post pass until 1900 (7 PM).

E/3-47 is conducting their own Turning Blue Ceremony at 9 AM that morning, so please do not arrive at Kanell field until 1015 AM at the earliest.

Our Graduation Ceremony will be at the National Infantry Museum (NIM) on March 6th, at 9 AM. The Graduation Ceremony will be in conjunction with E/3-47, so plan on arriving around 815-830 due to traffic.

After Graduation, our National Guard Infantrymen will be released to their families, and are authorized to travel with family back home. (Expect them to have 2-3 large duffel bags with them). Otherwise, they will be shipped to the airport by bus, and fly home.

For our Active Duty Infantrymen, they will be released for a short time to spend with family, before returning and being shipped to the airport on busses. The timeline for this is pending, and will be posted when it’s determined.

A significant amount of our Active Duty Infantrymen have Hometown Recruiting in their contracts - they will have to coordinate transportation home from Fort Moore, but the Army will coordinate transportation from home to their next Duty Station upon completion of Hometown Recruiting. There is the possibility that they can travel back home with family - we’re looking into that, more to follow as that is determined.

Finally, there are some Active Duty Infantrymen that were high performers, and volunteered to be assessed for Ranger Regiment and Special Forces - those Infantrymen will be released for an off - post day pass with family, and will stay with Assassin Company until they get shipped to their selection programs. (Tuesday of the next week). We’re considering different courses of action for those Infantrymen until they ship - more to follow as that's decided.

Hopefully the above information answered all of your questions! Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions!🔵🔵

Happy New Year Assassin Family!

We hope that you and your Soldiers had a relaxing and restful Holiday Season! Tomorrow we go back to work, and get back after it!

For those with Soldiers flying - your Soldier has their flight details and knows when they need to be at the airport. Typically it’s good practice to arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure time to ensure plenty of time getting through security and still making it to the flight on time.

For those dropping their Soldiers off, drop off can be any time between 9 AM and 5 PM at 2-29 IN (you can find the location using Google Maps or the picture below). There will be Drill Sergeants there to help facilitate traffic/drop off operations.

Please ensure that your Soldier flies/returns in uniform, shaved, and with their assault pack only for travel.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

🔴🟢 IMPORTANT HOLIDAY LEAVE🟢🔴
🔴🟢INFORMATION 🟢🔴

It’s Almost the the Holiday's Assassin Family!

On 18/19 December, all of Fort Moore is going through the major movement of transporting thousands of Soldiers in Training back to their homes for the next couple weeks - this is a complicated process, so bear with us as we work to ensure your Soldiers make it efficiently and safely back home to you, their loved ones!

Here’s the information that you need as they travel:

For those of you picking up your Soldier on 18 DEC:

Fort Moore is restricting access on post to using the National Infantry Museum Entrance: This is to facilitate efficient 1-way traffic to each unit that families will be picking up Soldier's from. A "Caravan" of personal vehicles will depart the National Infantry Museum at 4AM on DEC 18. There will be checkpoints facilitating traffic in one direction to each unit: follow any signs/directions to Alpha Company, 2-47. Posting a paper or sign with "A CO, 2-47" in the windshield will also help ensure that you arrive at the right destination quickly and smoothly.

You will also need to get clearance from the Fort Moore Visitor's Center; you can submit a request at the following link:

https://pass.aie.army.mil

If you are unable to obtain a pass, communicate with your Soldier on the day of, and we will transport your Soldier to you at the visitor’s center parking lot. Your Soldier will have their phone, so you can stay in contact as needed.

We will also post drop-off location/times (3 JAN) for return from the Holidays in the next couple days.

So, to re-iterate:

-Pre-register with the above link
-Obtain guest pass from the Visitors Center before attempting to drive on post
-Arrive at the National Infantry Museum at approximately 345 AM on the 18th.
-Pick up your Soldier
-Eat Christmas Cookies!

For those with Soldiers flying home:

Transportation for your Soldier to the airport has already been coordinated. Transportation to the Atlanta airport will begin on the evening of 18 DEC and continue into the morning of 19 DEC.

The USO at the Atlanta Airport will be conducting 24 hour operations to support your Soldier while they are waiting for flights.

Any delays/cancellations of flights can be remedied with the airline themselves.

Feel free to ask any questions!

🔴🟢 Important Announcement Below🔴🟢

Block Leave is on the Horizon Assassins Family! Below is the Block Leave information regarding your Soldier's time home for the Holidays!

Soldiers have already been briefed, but for your situational awareness the Block Leave Timeline is below:

Soldiers must purchase tickets flying out of the Atlanta Airport, and cannot depart until 7 AM on 19 DEC.

Soldiers must land in the Atlanta Airport no later than 6 PM on 3 JAN.

^ I know the timeline for Block Leave is different than what was stated in the Welcome Letter: the timeline from higher organizations shifted. These are now the correct dates.

In order to track our personnel as they travel, if you are purchasing the tickets for your Soldier, please email their itinerary to the following email address:

[email protected]

- Please include your Soldier's Roster #, then their First and Last Name in the Subject line of the email.

Soldiers can travel outside of the Continental United States - however, that requires the 197th Infantry Brigade Commander Approval. Be aware that the Department of State assigns risk levels regarding travel in certain countries. The risk level will be a factor of consideration when approving that leave.

Your Soldiers will still be in a training status: this means that the same rules apply - no drug use.

If you can while they’re on leave, try to motivate your Soldier to remain active and try to stay healthy - Holiday Leave is notorious for Soldiers to regress, and lose what they’ve gained.

Once they return from leave it’s immediately back into training - we want to make sure they’re ready to come back!

If you have any questions regarding block leave, don’t hesitate to message and ask!

🔴IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW🔴

It’s Wednesday Assassin Family!

We’re getting closer and closer to the midpoint of our training cycle, which is our Turning Green Ceremony. This is the defining moment where your Soldier has completed all the required training to become a Soldier in the Army. The training after Turning Green will be focused on developing them into Infantrymen!

Our Turning Green Ceremony will take place at Kanell Field (found on Google maps) on November 22, at 0900 (9AM EST).

After the Ceremony, your Soldier will be released on a four-day pass. Your Soldier will be allowed to spend the days off post and stay with you during this pass, but will be restricted to within a 50 mile radius of Fort Moore - so stay in the Columbus Area.

There will be an accountability formation at Kanell Field on Sunday, 24 November at 1500 (3PM EST). After accountability is complete, they will be released back to you until 1900 (7PM EST) on Monday, 25 November, where they will be back and continue training.

Over the past couple weeks I have noticed a significant positive shift in the discipline, maturity, and focus on training: therefore I’ve decided to reinstate cell phone usage on Sunday. They’ve earned this privilege back, and I’m proud of the improvement that I’ve seen. Your Soldier will be able to coordinate plans regarding Turning Green. A few Trainees have been unable to complete the requirements to Turn Green: this will be their opportunity to inform you if they’ve been delayed, or will be separated and sent home.

A background check is required to get on post. This can be conducted at the Fort Moore Visitor’s Center (Can be found on Google Maps) but can delay you getting on post while waiting for the check to be completed. It’s recommended that you register online beforehand in order to minimize wait time. You can do so at the following link:

https://www.moore.army.mil/gateinfo/Pass-Request-Online.html

While on pass, your Soldier will still be in a training status. They will be briefed on what they can and cannot do: to include alcohol and ni****ne consumption, or operating Personally Owned Vehicles - don’t let them get in trouble for doing something they shouldn’t.

Tomorrow I will post information regarding Block Leave over the Holidays!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

It’s Tuesday Assassin Family!

We apologize for delay in posting, we have been busy training and preparing for future training events!

After zeroing their weapons, your Soldier conducted LOMAH, then practiced the Army Marksmanship Qualification at the Electronic Skills Trainer.

Your Soldier then spent Friday and Saturday at the range last week qualifying with their weapon using Iron Sights. The Army Qualificaion gives each Trainee 40 rounds, and 40 targets to hit. Final Scores fall in the following categories:

0-22: Unqualified
23-29: Marksman
30-35: Sharpshooter
36-40: Expert

The Platoons had the following Averages:

1ST PLT: 25.2/40

2ND PLT: 25.3/40

3RD PLT: 26.1/40

4TH PLT: 25.5/40

Our top shot for Iron Sights is:

PVT Daniels, Thaddeus (RN 155) with a score of 33!

On Monday we began implementing the M68 Close Combat Optic (CCO) - which is essentially a red dot sight that allows for quicker aiming/target acquisition. Your Soldier will use that sight for the rest of the cycle.

This morning we conducted an easy 6 mile ruck march in the cool, brisk October air, and practiced the Marksmanship Qualification at the EST.

Tomorrow we will post information regarding our Turning Green Ceremony, and Block Leave for the Holidays!

Good Morning Assassin Family!

Yesterday we finished getting the rest of the Company Zeroed to their individual weapons: 3rd and 4th PLT Zeroed (and a couple trainees from 1st and 2nd that needed a little more experience and coaching). The rest of the company worked on their Rifle Marksmanship drills back in the Company. Pictures of yesterday's training is below!

Today we are conducting a Location of Miss and Hit (LOMAH) range: LOMAH ranges are used to confirm their Zero on targets of varying distances. LOMAH ranges also utilize a target tracking system that identifies where rounds impact the targets - this information is used to determine a shooter's "holds". Due to the flight path of the fired rounds, shooters need to aim at different locations on targets at different distances - this change in point of aim is referred to as a "hold". This give shooters more range experience, and solidifies their accuracy across multiple target distances.

For everyone new to the page, welcome to the family!

It’s a new week Assassin Family!

Today and Tomorrow your Soldier is conducting their first day at the range: 1st and 2nd Platoons went to the range to Zero their weapons, while 3rd and 4th Platoons conducted Rifle Marksmanship Drills in the Company Area. For some, this will be their first time ever firing a weapon.

Zeroing a weapon is a the process in adjusting the weapon's front and rear sights to fit the shooters point of aim: every shooter is unique, and needs their sights adjusted to them in order to fire rounds accurately. This is critical when firing at targets, and firing in combat. After becoming qualified on their weapon, your Soldier will learn how to fire and maneuver effectively as a team: with live rounds. This is the first step in preparation for that task.

In order to fire accurately, it is imperative that each shooter effectively employs the 4 fundamentals of marksmanship with each shot: Steady Position, Aiming, Breathing, and Trigger Squeeze. To develop the muscle memory of those fundamentals, your Soldier practiced conducting Marksmanship Drills. These Drills are:

Shadowboxing (Aiming)
Barrier Positions (Steady Position)
Dime and Washer Drills (Breathing/Trigger Squeeze)
Correcting a Malfunction
Magazine Changes

Each day this week, your Soldier will be at the range, Enhancing their Rifle Marksmanship, before they work to qualify on their assigned weapon, the M4A1.
