It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of retired Right-Of-Way Coordinator Felton Grant. There are no shortage of words to describe Felton: funny, kind, gregarious, smart, and many more. His stories were legendary, often having staff congregate to hear something from the Air Force days. He always wanted to know how our families were doing and made a point to get to know them. Essentially, he was everyone's favorite uncle and will be greatly missed. I'm sure he and Chuck Norris are shooting the breeze in heaven reliving their Air Force days.

(SFC) Retired Felton George Grant, 82, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Saturday morning on March 21, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA

Mr. Grant was born August 18, 1943, in Houston, TX, son of the late George Grant and Marie E. “Bert” Grant. He was employed as Acquisition Coordinator for the City of Columbus with 34 dedicated years of service and retired. He served our country proudly and was a Veteran of the United States Airforce retiring after 23 years of committed service. He loved spending time with his wife and family sharing memories and special times. He was a gentleman and enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved raising and selling German Shepards Breed dogs, and he was a Christian by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Kenneth Farless.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Reva Gaye “Blackmon” Grant of Phenix City, AL, one daughter, Samantha Grant (Jason) of Lockhart, TX, son, Aaron Grant of Lockhart, TX, stepson, Kevin Farless of Opelika, AL, sister, Karin Brandon of Wichita, KS, brother, Thomas Grant (Michell) of Keystone, FL, seven grandchildren, Anthony Grant, Devan Emrich (Alex), Meagan Martinez (Mikey), Amanda Brown (fiancé Javi Liamis), Natalie Miller, Alessandra Miller, and Sophia Miller, seven precious great grandchildren and one on the way, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and numerous friends

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 pm EST on Tuesday March 31, 2026, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Ms. Millicent Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the memorial service. Mr. Grant will be buried in a private place of rest where he will always be remembered, loved, and never forgotten.
