The Commission strives to carry out Dr. King's dream of service to others throughout the entire year through various events.

Do you know someone who is carrying on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.? Consider nominating them for the Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission’s annual awards that honor Ohioans advancing Dr. King’s principles of nonviolent change and the pursuit of racial, social, and economic justice.

Individuals and organizations can be nominated through October 30, 2025. Recognize your colleagues, friends, and neighbors with a nomination for the 2026 MLK Awards today.

Recipients will be recognized at the 2026 Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Celebration in Columbus.

Award categories include Individual, Organization, Collaborative, Youth: Capturing the Vision of Dr. King, and the Governor’s Humanitarian Award.
