Since launching the new year of Franklin County Young Democrats back January, our team has been working hard to ensure members are engaged, and new voices are raised in our organization. We've often heard that we must get out of the City and start acting like the Franklin County Young Democrats—not just the Columbus Young Democrats.

In March, we held our first in-person General Body Meeting outside the City of Columbus in years! Our March General Body Meeting was successfully hosted in Grove City at the Grove City Brewing Company! With several new members in attendance, we welcomed very special guests for a Women's History Month panel moderated by Communications Director Jo Baldwin: Representative Christine Cockley, Westerville School Board Member Anisa Liban, and Columbus Council Member Melissa Green. These history-making leaders inspired our members with their experiences and wisdom - thank you!

Don't worry—we're not done with our tour of the County! Check us out next month in Reynoldsburg! Remember, we have new standardized meeting times, so mark your calendar for the last Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.! See you there!

We’re so excited about the work these committees will be conducting in the coming months, and we hope you’ll consider submitting an application! We've included some descriptions for the 3 open committee chair positions below!

Membership Committee Chair
This committee is focused on growing, retaining, and supporting our members. The committee will work closely with our Secretary and Communications Director to manage our membership database, lead outreach efforts to expand membership, engage with and “onboard” new members, and develop tools and resources for existing members.

Finance Committee Chair
This committee is all about raising the resources we need to effectively run our organization, invest in our members, and support Young Democrats running for office. This committee will work closely with our Treasurer and Second Vice President to plan and coordinate fundraising events, research and prepare fundraising asks, and generate creative ideas to procure funding for FCYD.

Campaigns Committee Chair
This committee is focused on our efforts to identify, recruit, screen, endorse, and support Young Democrats running for office. With many local municipalities and school boards on the ballot in 2025, this committee will work closely with our First Vice President to research and aggregate candidate information, develop and conduct a transparent screening process, recommend endorsements to the Executive Board, plan and execute volunteer support activities like canvassing, and other creative ideas to support our Young Dems running for office!
