We had a fantastic experience listening and learning in Lima yesterday. We toured the “Tank Plant” and heard from numerous community leaders. The vision of our Committee is to help support veterans, our military and their families and to protect our defense economy. Thank you to the members of our Veterans and Military Development Committee all who welcomed us!!

I had the honor of presiding over today’s non-voting session at the Statehouse. There were quite a few new House of Representative bills and a number of requests from the Senate too.

There’s work to be done when it comes to data centers. Our communities deserve help and that’s what the new commission created by this bill is intended to do. Energy consumption, water usage, environmental concerns, noise concerns and more should be researched & addressed. I advocate for a report within 6 months after the Commission begins. As for tax abatements…I’m not a fan because they aren’t necessary & they create a burden for residents.

It was a very busy day, including hours of deliberation on bills during a lengthy session of the Ohio House Of Representatives. I spoke to the meaning of this new monument while on the floor of the House.
After over five years of work on the Ohio Suffrage Centennial Commission, we enthusiastically celebrated the groundbreaking of a new Ohio Women’s Monument.
The monument will captivate visitors, honor the sacrifices made by women, and inspire all to champion their passionate voices for generations to come.
Ohio leads the way and is one of just 2 states with any kind of monument celebrating the right of women to vote.  It will be there in front of our Statehouse greeting students and many other visitors.

Yesterday was a very busy day that included sponsor testimony of HB261…a very important bill to address property tax relief for seniors. We started the testimony with a little bit of levity, but believe me, I very seriously and passionately advocated for more property tax relief! You can find my testimony on the Ohio channel…I will post that link in the future. Below is a link to my press release. I know Ohioans deserve property tax relief! To date, the legislature has five new laws to reduce skyrocketing property taxes for all. I hope this will be the sixth.

Thank you to Airman Tyler Simmons of Columbus for serving our nation with dedication and courage! 🇺🇸 The news of the crash in Iraq is devastating! Please join me in praying for his family and friends in their tremendous loss.

I had the privilege of visiting the 121st Air Refueling Wing last summer at Rickenbacker Airbase with my colleagues on the Veterans and Military Development Committee. We experienced first hand the impressive professionalism, passion and commitment to country of the 121st. Tyler was one of 3 who made the ultimate sacrifice. The loss … painful beyond words.
