Ohio Democratic Women's Caucus

Ohio Democratic Women's Caucus The mission of the Ohio Democratic Women’s Caucus is to educate, empower & energize Democratic women.

The Ohio Democratic Women’s Caucus works in full partnership with the Ohio Democratic Party (ODP). Specifically, the caucus works to educate and empower women to take on leadership roles within Democratic politics, recruit more women to run for office and strongly impact the outcome of elections at the local, state, and national level. The caucus will build this support and capacity among Democrat

ic women by pursuing the following actions:

• Advocating equitable representation and funding of Democratic women as it relates to candidate recruitment, senior positions within ODP, and appointments to serve on boards and commissions at all levels of government.

• Providing educational training and workshops that focus on fundraising, coalition building, leveraging technology, developing political infrastructure, and supporting candidates and campaigns.

• Facilitating statewide and regional networking opportunities through the ODP website, an e-newsletter, and social networking tools like Facebook and Instagram. In-person networking events will also include an annual service project, an annual fundraising luncheon, an annual organizing conference, various regional policy and political events, and an informal mentorship program.

• Promoting and featuring political, community and grassroots leaders by creating an annual document that lists all Democratic women elected officials, attorneys, business owners, and progressive group leaders.

• Building a Democratic women’s speakers bureau to be utilized by local Democratic and progressive women’s groups.

Election results from last Tuesday to celebrate!

"In cities large and small around Ohio, conservative incumbents who ran for school boards on culture war agendas lost re-election. Outside candidates struggled as well. While off-year elections are quirky, some see ebbing political strength in anti-LGBTQ+ politics.

"In an interview, Rachel Coyle, with Ohioans Against Extremism ism, said she thinks voters got sick of candidates deviating from the nuts and bolts of setting school policy to focus on limiting LGBTQ titles from school libraries, opposing levies and other measures. Voters, she said, are angry and increasingly informed.

“It shows that people are realizing that you can’t just pay attention in presidential years,” she said. “It takes years upon years to build what the Trump administration has, and that you have to start local and keep people who have dangerous ideologies out of office at every level.”

The rule of law means nothing to Trump.
There is no respect for the law, the judiciary or our
legal system.
No overstating how devastating and dangerous this is. A credible threat to fair elections too.
Never have we seen the abuse of power thst is
taking place under Trump.
