Leadership Announcement: Nikki Murphy Named Director of Parks and Recreation

Mayor Mary Ferdon has appointed Nikki Murphy as the next Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Columbus, following a nationwide search and Parks Board approval on October 16. Murphy currently serves as Associate Director of Recreation and has led major initiatives including the $40M+ NexusPark redevelopment and the city’s first true community center.

With over 20 years of experience in parks leadership and a deep commitment to accessibility and community engagement, Murphy will officially step into the role on October 20. “I’m honored to continue serving this community,” she shared, “and look forward to leading a team dedicated to equitable, exceptional, and welcoming parks and programs."

Due to the severe storm last evening, the pool is currently closed. We are experiencing a power outage, and proper safety testing of the water cannot be completed without electricity. Once power is restored, it will take time to get the pool back up and running and ensure it is safe for use.

- All morning swim lessons are cancelled.
- Public swim scheduled for 1-6pm (including free swim) is cancelled.
- All evening swim lessons are ON AS SCHEDULED.

We appreciate your patience and will update you as soon as we’re able to reopen!
