The primary mission of the Ohio Emergency Management Agency is to coordinate activities to mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters, both natural and man-made. This mission is carried out by closely interfacing with local, state and federal agencies in an effort to bring resources of recovery and support to Ohioans impacted by the disaster. Ohio EMA agency activities, in addition to disaster response and recovery include: education, training, planning, preparedness, strengthening Ohio's first responder capabilities and improving communication across the state.

Remnants from Hurricane Isaias will impact the Ohio Valley this weekend. Breezy conditions will develop on Saturday as the system approaches, with the strongest winds Saturday evening into early Sunday (gusts of 25-35 MPH). Widespread rain and some storms possible as well, mainly Saturday night into Sunday. A swath of 1-2" of rain is expected, but some locally higher amounts cannot be ruled out, primarily SE of I-71.

Three Ohio Disaster Recovery Centers will be opening tomorrow, October 7 at noon.
Ohio residents in the seven declared counties impacted by the August storms can get one-on-one help with the individual assistance application at these locations.

President Donald J. Trump approved federal assistance for Ohio families who suffered damage from recent August storms. This major disaster declaration gives eligible survivors access to FEMA assistance to supplement state efforts.

This afternoon that President Trump has approved a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration for seven Ohio counties impacted by severe weather in August.

The counties approved for federal disaster assistance are Clermont, Franklin, Hamilton, Licking, Morgan, Muskingum, and Perry.
The declaration activates FEMA’s Individual Assistance Grant Program, which includes grants for temporary housing and home repairs, rental assistance, replacement of personal property, crisis counseling, disaster unemployment assistance, and disaster legal services.

The declaration also makes low interest loans available through the Small Business Administration (SBA), Visit their portal at www.sba.gov/disaster/
Residents who sustained losses in the approved counties can begin applying for assistance at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362), or by using the FEMA app.
