While many people know that Medflight was created by the merging of Grant LifeFlight and OSU Skymed in 1995, many don’t realize in 1996, Riverside Methodist Hospital’s Mobile ICU program was merged into Medflight to create a comprehensive critical care transport program. This year marks 30 years of the MICU program at Medflight.

A big congratulations to our very own Megan Leffler. She recent won clinical partner of the year during MedFlight’s partner choice awards. We are very proud of Megan!

A couple of our Medcare paramedic partners Victoria and Tiff, whom also drives for our MICU, traveled to Toledo for a class taught by 12 Lead and 15 Lead ECG subject matter expert Tim Phalen. 12 lead ECG placement and interpretation is an essential skill for paramedics and being able to take a class taught by Tim is a fantastic opportunity for any paramedic looking to learn and hone their skills in 12 lead interpretation.

What do we do between runs? We cleaned and waxed the trucks. Yesterday’s teams were fortunate to have some down time between calls to do some cleaning and maintenance on our trucks as we moved into Winter.

Two big celebrations in the MICU division today. Tiff who is one of our drivers, passed her National Registry Paramedic exam yesterday. And our paramedic Rob Stevens has a birthday today. Congrats Tiff and happy birthday Rob we love you guys!
