Ohio History Connection We're a private nonprofit history organization with a mission to spark discovery of Ohio stories.

We're the state's partner in preserving and sharing Ohio's history, archaeology, natural history and historic places.

• We manage more than 50 historic sites and museums across the state that you can visit, including the Ohio History Center.

• We preserve the state’s collections and archives for you and all Ohioans.

• We administer the state historic preservation office that helps preserve hist

oric places in your community and across Ohio.

Check out this free event happening at the Ohio History Connection's Adena Mansion & Gardens next weekend!

A very exciting, FREE event for America 250 - Ross County, OH is coming up in two weeks at Adena Mansion & Gardens! Mark your calendars. There will be something for everyone to enjoy!

Step back in time at the Adena Mansion & Gardens on June 13–14, 2026, for the America 250 Celebration with the Brigade of the American Revolution, Northwest Department. Experience the sights and sounds of the 18th century through artillery demonstrations, musket and rifle drills, soldiers' kit presentations, and period military music.

Visitors can explore hands-on exhibits, children’s games, cooking demonstrations, and the role of women of the era. Don’t miss George Washington, Ben Franklin, a flag retirement ceremony, beer making and other engaging activities that bring early American history vividly to life.

On this day in 1890, the Cleveland Arcade officially opened! One of the first indoor shopping centers in the U.S., it was modeled after Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and features five balconies and two 10-story towers.

Today, it's home to shops, restaurants and the Hyatt Regency Cleveland at the Arcade. The Arcade was added to the National Register of Historic Places - NPS - Archived in 1975.
