Columbus Natural History Society

Columbus Natural History Society The Columbus Natural History Society is a community organization that was originally founded in the 1800s and was revived in 1979.

The purpose of CNHS is to promote an interest in natural history and to foster the study of natural sciences by holding meetings for the exchange of information on topics of common interest. The primary reason for reviving a natural history society in Columbus was the desire to provide a natural history club where women could fully participate as members. A secondary motive was to provide a venue

for natural history programs. CNHS programs complement the programs of other local organizations, including Metro Parks, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Friends of the Ravines, Audubon and many more. Our monthly educational meetings are held on the third Monday of each month from September through May at the University Baptist Church, 50 W. Lane Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, 43201. (Access the parking lot behind the church at 31 W. Norwich Avenue. ) You are welcome to arrive at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and socializing, followed by the presentation at 7:00 p.m.
