MEET THE BAND: School of Rock Columbus House Band

Get ready to rock at Chalkfest! The School of Rock Columbus House Band is hitting the stage this Saturday at 3:00pm, and we’re especially excited because some of our own ACPA students are part of the band!

Their set is bringing a little bit of everything, with songs like “Dance, Dance,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Barracuda,” and “I Don’t Love You.”

Come out, support these talented young musicians, and spend the afternoon enjoying live music, chalk art, student vendors, food trucks, art experiences and more. School of Rock Columbus will also be joining us in the Community Organization area, so you can learn more about the amazing programs available to students around the city.

ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT:

We’re so excited to welcome Melanie Holm back to ACPA for Chalkfest!

Many of you will remember Melanie as a longtime ACPA art educator who spent years helping our students find their creative voices through visual art and fashion. After retiring from ACPA, she’s continued embracing all kinds of creativity and collaboration, and we’re thrilled to have her back on campus as a Chalkfest muralist!

In her own words, Melanie is a “multi-purpose creative human” who loves collaborating on projects. Visual art, music, yoga, and being outside are her sweet spots. After traveling quite a bit this summer, she’s happy to be home for Ohio’s BEST season, and just in time for Chalkfest!

We can’t wait to have Melanie back on campus and see what she creates for Chalkfest 2026 on Saturday, October 3.
