NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

Last chance to register! Join us and learn how to prepare simple, healthy meals, how to be more physically active and more! This program is designed for busy people and families living with, or at risk of, chronic disease trying to find ways to cook and eat healthier on a budget.

This program is centered around Steps to a Healthy You, a class series focused on eating a healthy Mediterranean-style eating pattern. Sessions focus on the 7 Simple Steps to Eating the Med Way.
Each household will receive a free meal kit to take home each week to create a simple, healthy meal following each educational session. Participants must attend at least 8 of 12 sessions to graduate. Attendees meeting graduation requirements will receive an additional incentive for participating.

Fruit and vegetable growers interested in learning about produce safety, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), and co-management of natural resources and food safety should attend this Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training Course. The course is one way to satisfy the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement outlined in § 112.22(c) that requires "at least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration." Participants will receive a course manual and certificate of course attendance. The class is $20 and includes lunch. It will take place on April 8 from 9 am to 5 pm in the Purdue Extension Bartholomew County Annex at 783 S. Marr Rd, Columbus. REGISTER AT https://cvent.me/d71OER

On Saturday, the Bartholomew County 4-H Drone Club hosted the first ever Southern Indiana 4-H Drone Competition! We were excited to welcome participants from as far as Vanderburgh and Cass counties.

Funding for this opportunity was possible through the generosity of Premier Companies, Indiana Energy Association, Indiana Soybean Alliance, and Indiana Corn Marketing Council, in partnership with the Indiana 4-H Foundation. We are so appreciative of the support provided to our youth through these grant opportunities!

In addition, Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) will be closed and operate on a snow day with Flatrock-Hawcreek School Corporation closed and operate on E-Learning on Tuesday, January 27.
